Yep. Been a cacophony of them for the past week or so. Thankfully the whoosh of the AC drowns them out.

Got to 88F here on my home thermometer. 92 in Shrewsbury where we were sipping wine outside. Not bad under the trees.

Car thermo dropped to 78 as we were pulling into the driveway here at home in Hubbardston MA. Some thunder. Light rain.

Mid to late August is typically not so big on the straight up heat. The 6 weeks from late June until early August is the meat of it.

Some debate about if 1635 was worse than 1938... I know it pushed a lot of water ahead of it. With CC and all, it does lend to the idea that a more powerful storm could survive up here

For up here? ... I know the mud scrolls or whatever hint at pretty powerful storms in the 1400s or whatever... Not sure we could top a 1938

That period starting late week/early the following week does look like the first decent shot of a heat wave for SNE. Maybe even 4-5 days in the 90s
