  1. Agreed. The atmosphere needs some time to reorganize I guess.
  2. It’s a ridiculous rag at this point. Somehow they still put one out 6 days per week. We used to get it here until 10 years ago or something. My mother in law still gets it even though her eyesight doesn’t work well enough. It’s only like 4 pages long.
  3. I love this column from the Gardner News. I know the writer but who knows how accurate any of the temps mentioned were https://www.thegardnernews.com/story/news/2004/01/16/the-chill-winter-in-gardner/11270366007/
  4. All kinds of anecdotal stories of crazy low temps here from that February . Nothing verified of course and wonky thermometers.
  5. Looks like -24F on Feb 16, 1943 https://marine.weather.gov/product.php?site=MHX&issuedby=ORH&product=CLS&format=CI&version=11&glossary=0
  6. Understandable... I got 20ish inches in December in several smaller events... I love good storms but will take pack refreshers
  7. I wouldn't mind December redux... clippahs, litle events... if we aren't getting any bigguns
  8. Very meh as far as low temps today compared with other days/locations. A bit breezy.
  9. I’ve had some melting of the snow on my roof. Icicles starting and some ice forming on my front steps where it has dripped a bit. I also watched yesterday morning, once the sun rose, as the dusting of snow on my daughter’s car disappeared in about an hour (sublimation). it’s happening, just slowly
  10. OMG. I forgot about the Disconnector. that could never be published/printed today.
  11. The parking lot at my school was such a mess today. People couldn’t see the parking space lines and parked like idiots. They sent out a huge email showing all the cars that had to move so buses could get through. I can park there blindfolded since I’ve been there so long but it was funny.
  12. I was in Smith (RIP). I actually watched them tear it down during the summer of 2010. Eames was a women’s dorm. Smith was a men’s dorm. We shared a cafeteria in Smith as well as access to the steam tunnel connecting across University Ave
  13. When I went to ULowell (UMass Lowell now) I lived in a dorm on the north campus for two years that had a steam tunnel connecting it to the main buildings. We could go to class in shorts and flip flops when it was below zero.
  14. I found one of those big stink bug things a week ago. Scared the crap out of me for a second
  15. I think busses have been really delayed so kids have been waiting longer at bus stops. -20F wind chills I know. I know. Our daughter will be spinning lifts at 8AM…
  16. Worcester Public closed Friday due to cold temps. I know. I know. Kids aren’t tough like we were. Blah blah blah.
  17. Yeah... saw several -10 to -15 on the Wungerground map this morning... Record at my house is -19 or -20... can't recall
  18. It was fun to watch the car thermometer change as I drove in to work. Lowest I saw was -9 in... Westminster? on Rte 2. Was at 10F by the time I got to work 15 minutes later
  19. -5F on my home thermometer, but lots of nearby Wunderground stations are -10 to -14. relentless
