We had under 10 inches in 06-07 in SE CT, and a couple others after that around 11-12-13 inches, but under an inch will be pretty tough to do even in the snow hole of SNE.

Damn 60s to near 70 NYC metro in the middle of the night in mid-December - impressive warmth. -
11/26-11/27 Rain Ending as Snow Obs/Disco

Light snow and snow pellets here. First flakes of the season. -
it's worse in Florida where this may have the largest impact. Rates will increase up to 18% per year until they reach market rates in a state where some parts are too risky for private insurance, and we're talking many miles inland too, so you can imagine how many thousands, maybe millions, of people this will hurt.

GYX got a new office? Nice to see they aren't abandoning WFOs with all of the new offices being built in recent years (e.g. CTP, BOX).

People in Maine can't grow their own tomatoes? That's a weird one. I can have all the tomatoes I want in my garden.

They should use the PRISM model to generate the maps since it has resolution to 800m and a systematic method to determine normals in places with sparse observations or lack of history.
-
I like how the map has a little dot of <25 right over GON. The map knows.

Frost advisory and freeze warnings up for interior southern CT tonight.
-
If we're setting records for warmth, doesn't that mean it's something that's never happened before?
-
"New snow accumulation 108 to 114 inches." If they had high speed internet access I'd move there.

How did Mass. get its power back on so fast? When Conn. has lost that many customers it took 1-2 weeks to get everyone back on.

Winds ripping pretty good here on the sound. Probably sustained 30s gusting to 50 now. Wasn't expecting this kind of wind from this storm. -
Mass. and RI should get an influx of Connecticut power crews to help as the state is basically fully restored.

Wind advisory needs sustained 31+ or gusts 46+.
-
Yeah it looks low because it was issued a day ago. They aren't going to go nuts with winds until there is more certainty.

What was the low at HVN? 68? 66 at BDR and GON. None of these will stand anyway... midnight lows coming tonight. -

Ten day still looked above average. Only one night with a low below the mid-40s. -
That's not the only tin foil hat excuse. During the game twitter was talking about Valdez touching something above his left eye every time he got a new baseball. As if umps aren't checking for substances. They just got beat plain and simple. The offense had been on a tear the last few weeks and was bound to go cold, and facing a junkballer and their second best pitcher on successive nights is a good catalyst for that.

There are also some palms at The Pavilion on Soundview Beach and the New London City Dock Restaurant. I wonder where they go when it gets cold or where they even got them from. -
