  1. Going through a burst of moderate to heavy snow.
  2. 11 -SN pretty good snow growth. Eyeballing 2.5" Looking at radar Im good with echoes all the way back to Central NY so this should go for awhile. Good night
  3. 11F -SN much better snow growth. Bit over 2"
  4. flakes have become bigger since my post 25 minutes ago.
  5. 10.7F -SN poor snow growth but getting a bit better last 10 minutes. Eyeballing 3/4" ish
  6. I was just looking at the 18Z Euro. Has over .5" qpf for me. So 5" at the 10 to 1 ratio. The weatherbell product almost doubles that to about 9" for me. At 11F right now I would think ratios would be good but snow growth is so poor right now. It's not pixel dust but sure not nice flakage either. Precip is going to have to pick up this snow is very light. Vis is down because of such small flake size. This will be a very easy storm to cleanup.
  7. Welcome. We need more posters up here.
  8. 405pm start time 12/4F Pixel dust snow doesn't help with snow ratios.
  9. Watching the ridges disappear quickly. Start time for you and me will be within 15 minutes. Snow seems to be slightly ahead of schedule 13/0F
  10. Going to start awfully cold up here 1245pm 12/1F Sun dimly vis
  11. Clouds thickening up. 6.5F as of 930am up here in Central NH
  12. What would be the realistic ratios up here? Tomorrow night's lows look like in the mid to upper teens while the snow falls. Then towards the end we rise into the upper 20's. Seem like some good ratios?
  13. My afternoon high today was 8F, low -1.2F although I was at 14F at midnight. Will today be the coldest high afternoon temp of the season? Next Tuesday might be colder. We are just about at the climatological lowest temperatures of the year about now.
  14. Wish this was a daylight storm. Seems like it will start around dark and end around dawn. Good night for the spot lights.
  15. Deep winter day 4F at 1130am after a low of -2F Lots of blowing snow around Tomorrow night a 6-8" easy storm. Temps in the teens should make that a breeze to clean up. Finally caught up to the SNE who cashed in on the bigger Dec snowfalls I was just out doing some errands and listening to distant WBZ on the radio. Talking about temperatures only getting up to the mid 20's today and it being dangerously cold. They should be up on my hill with this gusty wind and temps barely above zero.
  16. 6.25" snow total. Lots of blowing and drifting right now. Below me down at Newfound Lake level looks like around 4-5"
  17. Snow lightening up 30.4F Don't know if the batch in VT wraps SE bound or if it dries up Winter Wonderland
  18. Some light snow has begun for tonight's little system 31.8/28 Seems like winter finally arrives for NNE. Bit of snow tonight. Then the Thursday system. Arctic air with upslope after that. Then the weekends storm. GFS has a 960mb storm crossing the area in fantasy land around next weekend. Let's just hope it's not a cutter to bring a big melt but like I said that's fantasy land. During this time enough cold air for the duration so there will be no melting
  19. It's Sunday evening and I'm safely back under freezing. Yeah, that was quite the thaw. Snow is around my parts of Central NH is still mostly intact in the woods and below about 800 feet. The hills really took the brunt as they stayed in the warm air all day yesterday, through the night and all day today. Down below it was cooler all and all and there was less wind. In a way Im happy we got wiped clean. It's only very temporary with winter storms looming for later this week. The warmth cleared the ice dams on the north side of the house and the deer are out happily munching in the fields and finding old apples and acorns. Its a good chance for them to get a couple days worth of nutrients before we recoat the landscape. Newfound Lake is only 1/2 ice covered and no one has put Bob houses on the ice yet. Pretty unusual for mid January. The people with snowmobiles must be very unhappy. Very little sledding this year. The ski resorts can start making snow again now. Several winter storms on the horizon so part 2 of winter resumes now.
  20. I know this Kuchera derived clown map should not be taken (even near) to face value but it's fun to look at. 18Z GFS through Sunday AM
  21. Logan has been stuck at 73.4F for the past hour and 15 minutes. Wished they could have had a bump of .2F so rounding would be 74F. It's almost 3pm so doubt they will be able to do it.
  22. I like all kinds of weather extremes. Honestly a weather event like what we are going through is more satisfying than a 10" snowfall. Maybe I would feel different if I still lived in the Boston area. I just took a drive down the hill. Although I lost most my snow I would say there is still 90% coverage in the Newfound/Plymouth area. Even looking at the PSU webcam I can see downtown Plymouth NH is still white. Have you lost your cover? I can't find the link to your webcam
  23. 110pm looks like Logan shot up briefly to 73.4F. Whether that is accurate I don't know but it will make headlines for the warmest temperature ever recorded over 153 years. What a run. 70F yesterday, 64F for a low last night and 73F today. Probably longest, warmest stretch for Boston?
