  1. 31.6F Thick fog. Gray and wintery today. Light snow started around 8am and gave me about 1/4". Bit of freezing drizzle during the day but temps have remained below freezing. Ceiling has been very low so mostly in low clouds all day. 9" at the snow stake and the snow is dense with quite a bit of sleet mixed in.
  2. 31.5F light to almost moderate snow 3"
  3. 29.6F Light snow vis about 3/4 mile 2"
  4. Saw that -24F on Alex's weather station. I can't remember but I think he recorded a -34F last year. That might be the lowest temperature since moving to there. I had a balmy 0F up on the hill. Never do good with radiational cooling my best is CAA temps. It is really beautiful around here with the ice on the trees. Starts just north of Tilton NH on Rt 93.
  5. Storm total was about 6" Interesting ride today from Concord NH north to my house. I had mostly sleet yesterday with some freezing drizzle and a bit of freezing rain. Just 5 miles south of me was much heavier freezing rain with all the trees glazed. A really beautiful ride from here to around Brian's area. Around Concord NH the ground was snow covered but only looked like a couple of inches. The hilltops had glaze but lower elevations did not.
  6. 28.9F flurries Just snow blew the driveway for the 3rd time with this storm. 1/2 of sleet/freezing rain mixed together into a dense frozen mess. 1.5" of snow on top of that. Everything seems encased in ice and snow. Total winter wonderland. Event total so far 3.75" snow .50" sleet and 1.5" snow past couple of hours 5.75" event total. No bare ground for along while up here.
  7. 30F Moderate snow Glad today was mostly IP without tree damage.
  8. 29F Light snow. Changeover is now complete
  9. 29.1F Moderate IP but looks like it's about to flip
  10. 30.6F -SG- IP Eyeballing 1/2" of sleet since the first part of the storm yesterday. Storm total around 4.25" ish Heavier echoes about to move back in from the south
  11. 31.0F IP+ Temp seemed to max out about 30 minutes ago at 32.1F now falling back
  12. 30.7F Light sleet grains. Very happy so far there is little glazing
  13. 27.2F (high for the day) Light freezing drizzle and a few ice pellets
  14. 26.9F (High for the day) Light snow grains and freezing drizzle. Just went outside and everything is coated with a thin layer of ice. Don't know how tomorrow will play out. I expect freezing rain transitioning to snow. Evergreens already have snow on them from last nights 3.75" so I assume freezing rain mixing in with the snow will add to load. Then to finish it off with a few inches of snow and wind will make for an interesting evening. I got extra gas for the generator and heat by wood so I should be all set. Maybe this will not be a big deal but its not too often a 970mb low passes close by.
  15. 26.2F Light snow grains. I have not cleared the cars or snowblowed the 3.75" off the driveway. If tomorrow is a 34F rainer with a quick change to snow at the end I would clean everything now. If it's a 31F ZR event then snow on top as the low pulls away with a deep freeze to flow at night then its best to wait till early Sat AM. I'm so tempted to clean this powder snow now but I'll be sorry if I have an icy coating on everything if tomorrow is cold enough to stay below 32F. Thoughts?? Don't usually ask backyard questions on the board but my stress level is pretty high with other stuff going on
  16. 24.8F Very light snow grains 3.75" storm total
  17. Nice sunset tonight. Brian might know where this is. Pretty pathetic snow cover for Feb 4th. That looks to change Thursday/Friday I have been out of the loop for so long. Trying to figure out sensible weather from me to Concord NH on Thur/Friday. Seems like a total mess. I'll take snow but seems like quite a bit of ice will be involved with part 2.
  18. I don't know anything about this trail but I think (and could be very wrong) that Go Pro cams are wide angle so it might make this trail look a bit narrower than it is. Again I could be totally wrong.
  19. Holy crap. I have not been on the boards or looking at models much lately but just did. What an active pattern coming up starting late this week. So many precipitation types and storms. Winter is going to make a comeback throwing all kinds of stuff at us.
  20. Just checking in. 3-4" of hard packed snow at the house. Just did a 120 miles of driving, Newfound Lake to Dartmouth to Concord. Very thin snow cover the whole way. Bare ground in just about all places except on my hill. Well less than 50% coverage in Concord. Very quiet weather pattern which for personal reasons makes me very happy.
  21. 33.7F Moderate rain. Some catpaws have been mixed in from time to time
  22. 33.2/32 Light snow just started
  23. Hi Guys (and Diane). I have been missing in action the past week to 10 days. My husband caught Pneumonia over 3 weeks ago and it has been quite the battle. At first it was not too bad with home care but by last weekend he was in the hospital. Things got worse and worse and we almost lost him on Monday in ICU. He has been on a ventilator since then but finally today came off and is doing better but he has a strange fungal infection and they told me to expect several more weeks in the hospital. That is the only downside of living in NNE away from big medical centers. So give your love ones an extra hug because life can change in a flash. Taking a hospital break and looking at what might happen this evening. 4pm 33.1/32F here. Was 32.7/31 when I got home 2 hours ago. Noticed Euro gives me a few sloppy inches this eve but seems too warm?
