  1. I've checked this cam out a few times today. Surf has really come up Ft Lauderdale Also look at some of those dews 78-79F! https://www.earthcam.com/usa/florida/lauderdalebythesea/?cam=windjammer
  2. First outer bands coming ashore MIA/FLL Looking forward to a couple of inches of rain up here. 996/1000mb low coming up from the tropics should give some good rain to the west of the track.
  3. Okay, he's naked. So what should the NHC do? Immediately change Hurricane Watch/Warnings to TS warnings? I hate the cry Wolf stuff. Even if Isaias refires convection I very much doubt hurricane conditions anyplace in Florida. Still 1-3" for New England and a change the storm will get its act together somewhat but with a weaker storm a westerly track and more change inland over Florida vs over water. Next.....
  4. Recon just went through the center. If Im reading it right pressure down to 985.1 from 991 last recon.
  5. It's perfect for us. Maybe for the weenies we can get a quick spin up or two over SE New England.
  6. I really like the Euro track since it gets me into the heavy rain as the storm moves through New England. A good 2-4" soak. Thankfully there seems to be enough dry air and wind shear to keep Isaias from becoming something much stronger as a track like this would not be good for the east coast.
  7. Quite the Euro run. Storm comes right through SNE. On my Weatherbell gust product (FWIW) it has 70-95mph gusts coming right through Eastern New England from CN to Maine. Just west of the center 4 or 5" of rain falls. Take it with a grain of salt but quite a storm on that track
  8. Up and down year for my lawn. Started out great. Brown out by the end of June. Then a quick 3.25" of rain and it looked great again. Now with lack of rain it's starting to brown out. I wouldn't mind the tropical system in the Atlantic to come up here as a strong depression and give New England a few inches of water. Lots of haves and have nots this season.
  9. Nice trends today for the tropical low. It's over land right now but the GFS and Euro bring it up the coast and possibly to the west of New England late week. Not expecting a tropical storm or anything like that but the Euro has it at 1005mb as it comes up the coast and deepens it to 1002mb in New York state. That would give us high tropical humidity, downpours and a nice south breeze. Good for areas that have missed convection rains the past week or so.
  10. Lawn question..... if your lawn turns completely brown from drought will it come back? I don't mean kinda burnt out but totally brown. I am loosing the battle even with watering and the well can't produce enough water so parts are now completely dead. I guess the answer is yes because that is what it does in the winter. We always get periods of dryness and had that drought several years ago but this year the drought has started earlier. Thoughts?
  11. 34.7F Sun, snow, sun. Icicles still on the north side of the house. High was 37F but when a squall goes through it briefly drops below freezing.
  12. It's intense you can see on passing by me on the webcam
  13. We just had a nice squall. Wind gusted to 35mph. Quick drop of vis to 1/4" and temp drop fro 36.3F to 32F then full sun. 32.0F at 130pm which is about the higest the sun gets in the sky is super impressive for May 9th. Also noted Mount Washington is 9F with 75mph and snow at this hour. Wow
  14. Nice snow squalls moving past me this PM. Fun to watch the Nest camera.https://video.nest.com/live/2yLZqc60Vg Just made it to 35F
  15. Video from my neighbor up at 1600 feet. A mid winter dry snow with blowing and drifting. Trying to share this facebook video so link might not work https://www.facebook.com/christine.segalas/videos/pcb.10221978663513683/10221978663313678/?type=3&__tn__=HH-R&eid=ARAUyImOTTbAciZn5JLnGlXHXsF9WaKXwta6xDyS6vCSNW_bemVaoYCBhYQW43U0z6WqgPQyGrk8TAGF&__xts__[0]=68.ARAvVbacpTyD6RhPUHyD2DpyoUe9HLclr3Dx7oqn8mTw5qaj95SPQuzn4YtzrvpPg17ksfZcpQUFVdzMJUXjWZSydM8OTClxb797wppWthP34pQuwLwYAlZfVxssWc5wK7MpH13SuxqzPRAwxBxGQJxWDi3H1Ms8bMFDn58pbtzw7kpHnSutplSYVjTInPoZdTw95s895vVPuKzEyNmBn-MtvEiCe961Z8O8uyyOlIepBvahny1q4IGiz3zRFbNZyPRtitY1J4q_Q-ZixmVWtidUWKYbFYhws-HzqKIdGEyfYw-qi8Ec2Fbyseu7lQ
  16. Alex, maybe you over did it moving north from Boston to find a snow lovers spot. I'll give you a couple of years and you will be talking about moving to Florida I have frickin icicles forming too. May sun is melting snow on the roof but air has been below freezing. Warming up now 33F
  17. I think the mid day cold is even more impressive than the snow. The flowering trees and trees in leave are taking a hit with temps below freezing and strong winds. Luckily we had a cold April so things are not that far along
  18. 11:15am. Snow flurries, blowing snow with winds gusting to 30mph. 32F is extremely impressive for May 9th for near mid day. There was almost no snow down at Newfound Lake level (586 feet) but almost 3" at my elevation at 1100 feet. At this elevation we are having mid winter blowing snow right now. Then below us is a band where the snow was very wet and clung to the trees. Beautiful earlier before the wind. Go further down in elevation the trees are in bud with small leaves and the grass is dark green. Really interesting to live in an area with elevation differences. Far cry from my days living in Metro Boston. Picture from earlier this AM before wind
  19. No snow in downtown Bristol which is just 10 miles north of you. Elevation made all the difference. I bet even on your road there is much more snow at the top of your road than along the river
  20. 30.0F (temp continues to fall) light snow blowing snow 2.75" We were cold enough that legit blowing snow right now. Wind really cranking. Just made this short timelapse of the blowing snow. https://video.nest.com/clip/3d7bb204adfc4f8188a8f97fd187e422.mp4
  21. This is a great idea.
  22. Grass just started to green on south slopes. Have not notice any bud swelling on trees or anything in bloom yet. Certainly no yellow forsythia. Still some snow patches in deep wooded areas. (Picture from yesterday)
  23. I don't know he had psychological issues. Thanks for setting me straight.
