  1. Noon 84.5/70 Last summer my high was 89.5F Will I break that today. 90F is not too common at 1100 feet in Central NH. My weather station high is around 96F but that was when I had the station several feet above my roof peak. Now it's out at 2meters in the apple orchard with the fan so I get much more accurate readings.
  2. High clouds rapidly moving SE. Comet cancel and again tomorrow night will probably be cloudy towards the NW. Maybe Monday night if fropa can clear everything out
  3. Finally we may have a good evening for Comet Neowise. Visability even with higher dews is pretty good up here. Hope the high cirrus from the MCS complex north of Michigan doesn't make it too far SE
  4. 55.5F still at 1pm. Rain shower last hour brings total to .15"
  5. Front comes by too early in the day to give us convection?
  6. 1050am 54.5 Light rain shower .10" overnight and this AM Impressively cool for the climatological max time of the year
  7. Heavy thunderstorm in progress. Most lightning I have seen this year around my hood. About .30" so far Last night a nice storm just north of me but a mess here
  8. Picture just posted on facebook. Hampton Beach NH Looks like a touchdown to me? Too bad photographer was not to the right or left
  9. I went back and reviewed my webcam that has an unlimited view to the south through westsouthwest. There was a flash at 1109:30pm. It looked like distance lightning from my vantage point in Central NH
  10. Fay passing by this morning. Get the popcorn out and enjoy. Volume full up to hear the wind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFkyp7d3oyw
  11. 70/70 Driving small droplet rain. Brisk south winds up here on my hill gusting to 25mph About .35"
  12. Newfound Lake is at the warmest I have ever seen it. We have a guy that records the lake temperature and clarity weekly for the Newfound Lake Association. Yesterday he recorded 82.2F at the surface. Wow 7/9/20 - Newfound Lake Monitoring results taken by Loon Island. Surface water temperature 82.2F, at 9.8' it was 79.2F and at 34.4' it was 51.8F. Secchi Disc visible to 31.7' Water temp is 70+F down to 16.4
  13. 81.5/74 Partly cloudy with Cu and some Cirrus. Fairly hazy. With stronger SE to S flow developing do we think Eastern New England will break out to true tropical condition. Good visabilites with Bermuda blues and quickly passing tropical showers?
  14. Levi just put out a tropical discussion on https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/
  15. Newfound Lake surface water temperature was 82.2F. That is about the warmest I have ever seen it.
  16. Question about PRE's. Do they only occur with stronger systems or could a band of convective showers break out earlier than forecasted?
  17. The naked swirl is opening up and it looks like a new center is trying to form just northeast under developing thunderstorms. Not that this means that much but fun to watch. I want the center to go into Western New England. That brings true tropical air into SNE with breezy conditions and quick moving heavy showers.
  18. Nice rain yesterday. .90" Finally some water in the pond.
  19. Bryan Norcross discussing the tropical system https://www.facebook.com/BryanNorcrossWeather/videos/916454108871120/
  20. Watching those storms to my north. I received about .80" in heavy showers earlier this afternoon. Have not had a strong thunderstorm hit my direct town the past couple of years. Perhaps in the next hour or two a nice squall line will be coming in.
  21. I wasn't sure what thread to put this in. This photo was taken this afternoon on Newfound Lake. My house would be on the hill to the left of the photo. This is looking south south east. It was posted on facebook saying she thought it was a waterspout on Newfound Lake. I recorded a quick .45" just after this photo was taken but had no wind and the storm produced only a couple of lightning strikes. I think this is just a thin rain shaft. The storm was moving to the east and you can see the shaft line is quicker up at cloud height. Any thoughts?
  22. Shower developed over Newfound Lake NH. Rumble or two of thunder. Quick .47' for me
  23. I REALLY would like the virus thread back. Except reading some headlines or watching the news I feel lost without it. So much good quick important info. There must be away of having it without it being hijacked by outsiders in our NE group. Just factual info. Please bring it back! Rant over
