  1. I really enjoy living up relatively high with a good view. Not just for winter but for summer storms too. Wish it was a bit more west too. Beggers can't be choosers most people would kill for this view. I could cut down the forest to the west as we own that land too but we have enough open space. Video of last night's thunderstorm. Some nice cloud to ground strikes but didn't capture any in this video. The lightning rod at the end of the video got hit once while I was in the sunroom and sparks went flying but it saved the house.
  2. Usually all time records are broken by a degree or two. This heat wave was so unprecedented that climate change had to have played a part. You just don't break 3 days in a row with all time record highs by many degrees. Portland below Monday’s record-setting temperature of 116 broke Sunday’s record-setting high of 112 degrees. Sunday’s high had broken the 108 degree-record set Saturday, which broke the previous high of 107, first set in 1965.
  3. 75/69 Got lucky with a thunderstorm passing through .23" for the gardens
  4. 75/69 Got lucky with a thunderstorm which is just ending .23"
  5. The city's all time record high was 107F until yesterday. They reached 107F three times in the city's history. Yesterday broke that with a 108F I believe. At 2pm west time it was up to 109/52F. GFS has a high of 114 today and 118 tomorrow. Euro has a high of 111 and 116. My Mother, sister and family live in Oregon so I'm watching this with interest. VERY impressive to break all time highs by many degrees.

  7. I believe their all time max is 107.
  8. There is quite a bit of incredible tornado videos from the tornado in the Czeck Republic on June 24th. Go to You tube and search around a bit. The one you guys posted of all the trees being mowed down is a good one. I believe 5 people lost their lives.
  9. .16" yesterday and .13" from dying Tstorms the evening before. This .29" puts me up to 1.76" for the month. The .82" thunderstorm last week really helped
  10. 65/59F Light rainy type day. Only .10" today but nice to open the windows. Refreshingly cool. I will take this over 90/72F any day
  11. I stayed up last night wondering if the line would give me anything. Models were about right. Got .13" Looks like todays rain is further NW than forecasted. I'm at .05" so far with this mornings rain.
  12. As long as we are bantering about weather and obs I use the PSU site. Click on any state and get the hourly obs. The webcams from NH highways is nice too. https://vortex.plymouth.edu/
  13. Glad you got some rain. The cell that got me really intensified just over me. Lots of thunder and lightning. I was not home at the time but the webcam caught it https://video.nest.com/clip/3247c2bd8247448ebfa2235c808c3415.mp4
  14. 62F Heavy thunderstorm just ended. .83"! Finally some substantial rain. Had .17" from yesterday too.
  15. 1.93" the last 39 days up until this morning deluge of .12" Congrats to all of you seeing rain
  16. 56F at 1230pm. Not bad for Jun 11th
  17. AC off, windows wide open. 79F but the 54F dewpoint seems so refreshing.
  18. Scratch and clawed my way to a welcome .33" of rain.
  19. High today was 49.4 and yesterday was 50 and the day before that was 51F Pretty impressive cold spell for the last few days of May
  20. Up to a balmy 43F at 1245pm My sister is going to Iceland in July. Hope that volcano is still erupting
  21. Snowy Day atop S Greens. I snapped this picture from the top of Stratton at 1115am but still snowing
  22. Snowy day atop Vermont higher mountains. Looking at the Stratton Cameras. Snow line was around 2500 feet. It's still mixed at this level as of 11am but snowing and accumulating on the summit

    RIP James

Seems so. His sister's post said he past away in the ICU next to his Mom. So it has to be Covid. In my orbit of family, friends and friends of friends like James this is the 9th death. Such a sad gut wrenching story.
  24. I just looked at my Nest cam timelapse. I had lots of clouds late at night. You may have too which helped keep you from colder temperatures. If tonights storm comes any further north the Whites could have some snow tonight according to my weenie eyes
  25. Hum, (it's the NAM) but the 12Z run raises some eyebrows. Precip gets further north and it is sure cold. 850mb below freezing and even 925mb is very close. Could I flip early tomorrow morning or at least at elevations above 2000? It's happened before.
