  1. No northern New England animal really bothers me except these guys. One tried to attack me years ago. I do have to say that last night "was a marvelous night for a moon dance" Their singing is a bit off however https://video.nest.com/clip/99ae314d86ba4318a81dd9b55bd1e83a.mp4
  2. I think Northern Maine had a frost advisory
  3. Fantastic day today. So far this fall my low has only been 48F. A year ago right now I had several nights of mid 30's which really got the colors going. Peak foliage was occurring in Alex's area on Sept 27th. It was a very quick, vibrant peak. Here is a drone video of Bretton Woods and Alex's Moose Lodge on that day.
  4. Alex, I am around 80% of average for the past year. So if I get 45" that is around 9" below. Of that, 11" was in July and lots of that was quick runoff so I have to take some of that away too. I don't know how unusual 20% more or less of yearly precipitation is? Maybe some one with more knowledge of New England precip can chime in? It seems over the past several years I am constantly whining about lack of qpf. Even last winter except the big Dec 12th storm I didn't have a snowfall more than 4 or 5". 2.25" so far this month with another dry week coming up. Okay, rant ova!
  5. .23" yesterday with weakening thunderstorms and light rain in the evening. Over the last year it has been a tale of two cities, well regions. Very wet in SNE and very dry in NNE. In my region of CNE the past year would be way, way below average if not for the 11" in July. Below is the % above or below average for the past 365 days.
  6. 68/63 Light thunderstorm in progress Line of storms weakened significantly just west of me. Some wind gusts to 20mph. Light rain. About .06" still raining and many more lighter echoes to the west. I will take all the water that Mother Nature gives me. Been quite dry since August 1
  7. 76/69F Just about constant thunder to my northwest. I have 3 web cams. 2 at my house and a new one at my friend's house at 1500 feet. Looks directly west across Newfound Lake. Should see a nice shelf cloud come over the lake soon www.bridgewaternhweather.com
  8. .58" for this last rain event. Brings me up to 2.02" for the month and 3.59" since August 1rst. Everyone south of me and complain of endless excessive rain but sure not here. I hope when SNE finally gets into a dry pattern it is not compounded up here with us going from fairly dry back to drought.
  9. I got .07" with the line of showers and .13" last night. Took the AC window units out and start cutting down the gardens tomorrow. Growing season is coming to an end up here. Still a chance for a hot and humid day or two but the nights are longer and heatwaves don't last. Early to Mid September has the best COC weather of the year. No bugs, low humidity with my average temperature in the low 70's for highs and around 50F for lows
  10. Ida was the perfect event for me. After 1.5" in August I really needed rain. A gentle light to moderate rain for many hours. No wind Ended up with 1.31" Perfect!
  11. Very light rain up here the past 2 hours. Seems like the northern edge (me) might have been overdone. New Euro says 2" for me but I don't see it 18Z Euro precip amounts came down slightly in SNE but still 3 to 4.25" for everyone
  12. Im seeing some of the pics of the tornadoes in greater Phili. Amazing to see large on the ground tornadoes in Phili. Going to be some major damage.
  13. You would probably trade a whole winter to reexperience that Dec 12th storm. I never quite got in the death band but it was still awesome
  14. I'm glad it is not winter. I have been right on the edge of north precip. I have been watching the last couple days. Some models and runs come north and I end up with almost 2" and then some runs come south and I get nothing. If it was winter I would be pulling my hair out!
  15. Today's showers and thunderstorms were a miss here. .01" just enough to wet the ground. August will end with 1.58". No rain the first half of the month. The remains of Ida look like a close miss and then really nothing. So a pretty substantial dry period!!
  16. Does anyone have some of the best videos that depict the high winds as they happened? I looked on Youtube but it is full of news clips and damage pictures but I wanted to save some of those incredible videos that you guys were talking about yesterday. Thanks in advance.
  17. We had so many humming birds a few days ago. None today. Wagons south
  18. East wind 54knots gusting to 72knots peak wind 76 knot vis. 1/4 mile heavy rain
  19. I have not been on the internet today. I just happen to see 2 storm chasers streams and when I happen to look they were not nearly like the Michael videos. Since I posted that on the thread I went back and looked at some of the twitter videos and yes I absolutely take back what I sad. Chill out
  20. I have not seen that video. I probably just missed the real wild videos. I don't doubt you as the storms presentation is very good.
  21. As of 545pm east time I still have not seen any storm chaser video that is showing true high end Cat 3 conditions. I am just comparing some of the Youtube videos of past major storms. Maybe no ones position if directly under the worst of the eyewall. Reed Timmers video in Houma definitely has not shown true near white out conditions as we saw many times with Michael. Ida's radar and satellite presentation is so impressive so chasers must be just missing the inner eyewall.
  22. 12Z Euro just coming out. It is a bit west of 06Z
  23. Port Fourchon gusting to 153mph a little awhile
  24. The most impressive live storm surge videos probably ever. Grand Isle
