  1. I have a couple of questions. Just went through all the posts to see if someone already asked. What is the deepest cyclone in mb at the latitude of the Cape/Boston? Would the Euro 946mb be a record? Sure would seem like it. Blizzard of 78 was 984mb (I think) but a stronger high out west. What has been the steepest pressure gradient over New England for a winter storm?
  2. Hum, I am not sure what I am seeing in this picture. I took it yesterday mid morning from my house looking SW towards Ragged Mtn. It was still very cold down below and it looks like there was a weak inversion. The "cloud" at the base of Ragged was there for awhile and changed shapes. It almost looks like their snowmaking guns were producing snow that was drifting down the mountain and settling near where the lodge would be. Any guesses? Edit: I really zoomed in. Perhaps they were just taking advantage of the -10F and making snow along the trails at the base of the mountain
  3. You guys get all the fake snow! So much fluff that you can measure 8" that is half air. We need to handicap anyone north of the NH notches and the Greens. My stuff has staying power.
  4. I just updated my snow amounts. 26" That is pretty pathetic for 1/22. At least this winter we are getting the zero nights. The GFS keeps trying to get a huge coastal next weekend. Some runs have been out to sea and others close off well south. A Georgia or Carolina blizzard?
  5. Alex is already down to -8.5F https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KNHCARRO4
  6. 18Z Hour 210. 958mb Nantucket Should we lock it in? Last run was a 30" blizzard for Georgia.
  7. Congrats Alex. Your weather station said you had a low -25F
  8. It's 3:15pm and I'm still 21F while Concord is 40F. Nashua is 45F and Berlin is 12F. WMUR is NH only station so at least in these parts everyone watches them. It gets me so frustrated when they forecast specific temperatures for each day, to the degree? The state is orientated N/S from oceans to mountains so no matter what they will be wrong. Here is today's forecast for example.
  9. Hum, 1:115pm. Concord NH 39F Me 18.8F Concord is 33 miles SSE. CAD always rules. It is a frozen tundra out there. 11" at the snow stake
  10. Snow ended over an hour ago. Now a few breaks. Temperature is still below freezing. Up to 31F Dry snow throughout with just the briefest of mix of IP. Only 6" but I think that is low. There are trees a couple hundred feet to the east so with strong winds it might have blocked my house area. Very hard storm to measure with the wind
  11. 27.9F Moderate snow. The end of the echoes is just 5 miles south of me. Other than about 5 minutes of mixed IP and snow the whole storm was dry snow. Should be an easy cleanup. Lots of drifting so I will post snow total once I take a few measurements. Really nice winter storm. Sorry that most missed out
  12. Heavy snow (big flakes) 27.6F Looks like we make make it through the storm without really any sleet and no freezing rain. Models were about right for my area.
  13. 27.3F Back to moderate snow. Temperature has been steading off.
  14. 27F Heavy snow. Flakes getting bigger. Sleet at my doorstop. Must be moving very slowly as the Steele Hill Resort cam only 8 miles to my south has good vis.
  15. I don't think so. 26.9F Light to moderate snow but sleet line is 5 miles SE. Changeover anytime.
  16. 26.7F Snow has become moderate again. Boy, people driving up from bare ground Mass to my place will see a huge difference. Building up a nice pack
  17. Heavy snow band moved through. 1" in about 20 minutes. Now very light snow 26.5F
  18. 26.1F Very heavy snow. Vis back to 1/8
  19. So many people here watch Hillbilly weather. He was basically saying most of the storm would be rain. People were ribbing me yesterday as I was saying mostly snow up here. Watching Steele Hill Webcam too. Seems to be going to sleet then snow, back and forth 25.8F Moderate snow but just measured only 5"ish
  20. Moderate snow 23.7F So much drifting that is hard to measure. Will we flip before qpf leaves is the question! Also our generator is in the shop so hoping power stays on. The other key is to snowblower just before any mix or especially rain.
  21. Brian, just got up and saw your message. I didn't know. Jeez. I responded and will write more after the storm. Meanwhile. Near blizzard conditions. 23.2F Heavy Snow blowing snow. Vis 1000 feet or so www.bridgewaternhweather.com
  22. Brian, I'm surprised you are thinking of the 6 to 8" in my area. Usually we get downsloped by a northeast wind but this time it is east. Also models are spitting out 1.50" of precip. I was also looking at the wind. Usually this far inland there is not much wind but the models are showing over 45mph gusts. Would that ever happen?
