  1. 27F Heavy snow. Flakes getting bigger. Sleet at my doorstop. Must be moving very slowly as the Steele Hill Resort cam only 8 miles to my south has good vis.
  2. I don't think so. 26.9F Light to moderate snow but sleet line is 5 miles SE. Changeover anytime.
  3. 26.7F Snow has become moderate again. Boy, people driving up from bare ground Mass to my place will see a huge difference. Building up a nice pack
  4. Heavy snow band moved through. 1" in about 20 minutes. Now very light snow 26.5F
  5. 26.1F Very heavy snow. Vis back to 1/8
  6. So many people here watch Hillbilly weather. He was basically saying most of the storm would be rain. People were ribbing me yesterday as I was saying mostly snow up here. Watching Steele Hill Webcam too. Seems to be going to sleet then snow, back and forth 25.8F Moderate snow but just measured only 5"ish
  7. Moderate snow 23.7F So much drifting that is hard to measure. Will we flip before qpf leaves is the question! Also our generator is in the shop so hoping power stays on. The other key is to snowblower just before any mix or especially rain.
  8. Brian, just got up and saw your message. I didn't know. Jeez. I responded and will write more after the storm. Meanwhile. Near blizzard conditions. 23.2F Heavy Snow blowing snow. Vis 1000 feet or so www.bridgewaternhweather.com
  9. Brian, I'm surprised you are thinking of the 6 to 8" in my area. Usually we get downsloped by a northeast wind but this time it is east. Also models are spitting out 1.50" of precip. I was also looking at the wind. Usually this far inland there is not much wind but the models are showing over 45mph gusts. Would that ever happen?
  10. Meanwhile up here in the Lakes Region of NH this looks like quite a storm if we can stay all snow and not mix at the end. 12Z GFS puts out almost 1.60" liquid. I assume good ratios for the first part of the storm. Usually I am downsloped from the Whites to the NE but this has a more easterly component so more qpf.
  11. Bob Turk said he is going to have a couple of sleepless nights figuring out the rain/snow line thru Baltimore. He works Sunday night. Good luck down there. Where is your place? NE Maryland I think?
  12. The ice we had on Sunday is still covering driveways, walkways etc. CAD is so strong here even when we mix after a fropa we don't get much above freezing..anyhow 1/4" quick snowshower just now has covered up my icy driveway. Really hope we can get a bit of sun and over 32F today or tomorrow. I am not counting on it. Then the arctic blast and storm. Newfound Lake finally skimmed over. That is about on track, a little late.
  13. What a friggin cold day. Overcast. Finally made it up to 13F at 3pm. At the same time Boston is 43F and Concord NH just 30 miles south is 30F. Just no wind to scour out the icebox.
  14. 1215pm. Temperature still only 10.8F and seems like it is rising very slowly. Point and click has our high at 25F. Don't think that will work out, especially with solid overcast.
  15. Oh no. GFS tucks the storm so much that Boston and SE turns to rain and dryslots. Many days of model watching
  16. I had a low of -7.8F at my elevation. Up to -2.7F. Extremely hard to have a 0F high for me. I believe it has occurred for me once.
  17. With so much arctic air up here storms seem like they will be displaced well south. MD might have better chances than us
  18. Diamond dust tomorrow or tomorrow night? We have had not even a flurry since the first fropa last night. Snow has a gleaming icy crust. Totally clear skies right now as of 5pm
  19. Alex, tomorrow night is the night that the wind really dies off so you will plummet. What is your record low since moving up from Mass?
  20. Finally around 7pm we got up to 32F. Now 33.4F. Quick mix out that hopefully be enough to melt all the black ice around.
  21. 27.6F Black ice everywhere. I hope it mixes out before fropa. If not this ice is going nowhere. Then add a nice 1/2" snow squall with the front and lots of broken bones over the next few days.
  22. Get ready Phin. You are finally going to get a taste of real NNE cold. Last winter I barely got down to 0F. Way off my record of -19F. Take the kids out and do water experiments on Tuesday early. It can be fun to pour water on the car and have it freeze before it hits the ground etc.
