SN+ 28.5" 6" This band produced very heavy snow. Going into lull soon.

28.2 SN 4" Temperature is a couple of degrees colder than I figured so this is a fairly dry snow with some blowing and trees are clear of snow.

If the models continue to show this solution for the next few days the media is going to pick it up and go wild with it since it coincides with Christmas travel. Then watch..... things don't phase as shown and this ends up being much weaker or develop well out to sea and being a nothing burger. Mets will have egg on their face. I wish this was 4 or 5 days out and not 7. I will say (if I remember correctly) the big epic storms like 78 or 1993 were forecasted well in advance I believe since so many models were honking days before the event.

Crazy GFS. It had the storm, then lost it the last couple runs. Now a 960mb just SE of the BM. Crazy swings.

The upslope and downslope of the mountains is so interesting. It differs so much in short distances. Down here about 15 miles south of the Whites Plymouth and to a lesser extent me gets shadows on the NE flow. At the same time I do fantastic in CAD situations. Many times my warmest temps are right after fropa when mixing sets in.

Burlington usually issues WS watch before Gray Maine does. WS watch will be coming for C/N NH soon. If you are in Sullivan County NH you should do fine.

Hey ya 'all. I have not been on the forms much lately. Busy with other stuff. I just happened to look at the crazy 18Z GFS Kuchera clown map through the whole run. Can we lock in the 45-55" of snow for a good chunk of CNE/NNE? Wake me up when we are within about 5 days or so.

9am 31.2F light freezing. Many accidents around. So much for salt free roads this fall. It was nice being able to keep the cars clean so late in the season. Maybe the roads will get a rinse off on Sunday.

I powered up my drone and drove up to the Notch this morning with the idea that perhaps I could aid in the search. There were 2 helicopters in the air when I was there around 10:30am. I was surprised that I could not find a "base" camp that was co-ordinating the search. I went to all the pull offs and the Cannon parking lot. Long story short the wind was pretty strong and ceiling about 3500 feet with snow showers so I did not attempt to fly the drone. I also would not have flown without co-ordinating with Fish and Game. Sorry that she didn't make it. PS There is no snow cover south of Franconia Notch. The Notch only has a couple of inches.

Just watched the 5pm news. The search teams quit for the day. Didn't find her. 19 years old. She left yesterday early morning to hike to the top of Lafayette with just sneakers on. No food, no lights, little water. How do people make such bad decisions?

GFS on board for a nice storm. Although too warm for snow as is for the big northeast cities if a 970mb low happens lots of air travel delays and highway mess with Saturday travel. It is out of here Sunday but gusty NW winds. Timing still a week away and lots will probably change but at least some weather to watch for New Englanders.
