  1. 74/68 Partly cloudy. Rainshowers missed today by a couple of miles to my south. Very little upstream. .13" total rain for August. Don't see anything coming up in the near future.
  2. 61/53 Partly cloudy. Few very light showers today but managed a 70F Meanwhile, my sister and family in Bend Oregon got hit with a nice hailstorm late yesterday afternoon. Here's a picture of my brother-in -law with the snowblower. A bit overdone for something that will melt in an hour or two but it looks like something this weenie would do.
  3. 71/56 shower is passing by to my south. Wind gusting into the high 20's definitely a cool feel to the air
  4. .16" total for this whole event. Sprinklers working overtime to keep things green. Lawn has remained green all summer but looks like brown times ahead.
  5. On going water rescue (s) going on at Newfound Lake. Towns of Bristol and Alexandria. Thunderstorm that barely missed me hit the lake. I had frequent wind gusts over a 10 minute period in the mid 30's so it might have caught some off guard. Grafton County was not in the Severe Thunderstorm Watch and storm was not warned.
  6. Perfectly shooting the gap here. Few drops to wet the deck. Storms to the left of me dealers to the right. Nada so far!
  7. Watched the storm safely from my house in New Hampshire. Looking at the Inner Harbor earthcam it sure looked like large hail was hitting the water. Then the heavy rain came in and the vis dropped to about 1000 feet. Wonder if there will be hail reports in the city?
  8. We biked the Franconia Notch trail today and yes wooly's in the way. What a perfect day for the ride. Clear, cool. It's a great 9 mile trail.
  9. Alex, fantastic shots. Animal photography is really hard. Squeak toys and tennis balls help. Your dog never looked so good.
  10. A photographer friend came over last night and made a nice time-lapse of the Milky Way from our front lawn. The town of Bristol and greater Concord NH muck up my southern horizon a bit.
  11. Low of 54.1F. Alex in Bretton Woods 43.3F nice!
  12. Congrats Alex 43.3F Nice and toasty on the hill, low 54.1F
  13. We own a 15 acre parcel looking over Newfound Lake. I don't do anything to the grass, just mow once a month. With frequent rains this summer it looks darn good. Anyone want to picnic or camp on it? Free to any AMWX members! Private night under the stars for sure!
  14. 73/69 Overcast. No heat up here today. 2 soaks for the garden past 2 nights 1.05" total. No storms today with lack of heating while SNE bakes again
  15. Last summer I couldn't score a thunderstorm for the life of me. This summer getting hit frequently T storm just ended 67/66F .50" more lighter cells to my SW
  16. 70/67 .58" total. Not a lot of lightning and thunder no wind but nice downpour.
  17. 73/69F Heavy thunderstorm. This came out of nowhere. Just about everything was north all day. Few showers popped up west of me and bam! .55" in the stratus and still going strong.
  18. The bear population seems to be exploding in my area of Central NH. They are everywhere. When one crosses our yard or field it's not even worth getting up off the sofa to take a look.
  19. 82.5F high for me with dews around 60F. Few towering Cu's popping up and down This mid-day timelapse from my front lawn exemplifies what I think of when I think of a perfect summer day. One shower in the distant SW of the view https://video.nest.com/clip/554140cc363e45d5ab5deaedc78f7d88.mp4
  20. Paris, wow. I just Googled their all time high temp 104.7F. Is the 108 official?
  21. That's what it looked to me. Strong straight line wind got under old, crappy construction. Although I don't blame the guy filming it's too bad we didn't see another 30 seconds to see if any kind of wind switch.
  22. Lots of conjecture on my part. I looked up the Cape Sands Inn. So per this picture, it was a west wind that took off the roof. Maybe RFD from the departing circulation. That Inn seems a bit far NW of where the ground circulation would have been? How wide would a small tornado be on the ground? Maybe 500 feet? Wind at the Inn could have gotton under the roof and pulled the whole thing off. We will have to see what the NWS says because much of this damage could just be straight line winds around a broad center.
