  1. 83/72 Nice breeze. It doesn't seem too uncomfortable up here. Looks like the bullseye for the rain tomorrow will be right across my area or a bit south towards Brian. Nice to give the gardens a 1" soak after this heat.
  2. A special evening in Greater Boston At 20 minutes to 10 at night, most all the Weather Underground reporting stations are 87-90F with dews in the upper 70's. Enjoy!
  3. 88/70 High was 88.9F. Now with the new VP2 out in the field and not near the roof I realize it will take a special day for me to hit 90F. With the front close by tomorrow I don't expect to do it.
  4. Debris clouds just exited up here. Dark blue sky and temperature jumping up the past 30 minutes. Cirrus to exit E Mass soon should give Boston a boast.
  5. What do you guys think about a possible MCS type situation for New England, especially up here during this evening? I'll be watching for convection in S Ontario to round the bend and come at me from the NW. Thoughts?
  6. Speaking of water temperature lots of activity this weekend on the big lakes of NH. Newfound Lake water temp is at 78.4F and Lake Winni is usually very similar. Going to take a run at 80F water temps by Sunday. That's the temperature I like for a swim.
  7. Thanks. My station is in a field surrounded by apple trees so it makes sense it is higher with moisture coming off the ground. I'm watching the dew on my monitor and it is bouncing around. 72 to 75F. As dews creep up to the low 70's it will be interesting if mine continues to read high. Enjoy the upper 90's down there while I tickle 90F this weekend.
  8. 85.5/75F Nice to see Concord back. How can their ASOS be reporting a 69F dew? Brian and I both have dews up to 75F now.
  9. 83.3/73F Dew just briefly hit 74F. Seems to high but that is what my air aspirated VP2 in the field is reading.
  10. I just happen to see this on my news feed. Last month was hottest June on record for the planet... June 2019. The average global temperature in June was 1.71 degrees F above the 20th-century average of 59.9 degrees, making it the hottest June in the 140-year record, according to scientists to NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information. Nine of the 10 hottest Junes have occurred since 2010.
  11. 77/70F up here. Surprised the dews have risen so quickly this AM. Expected them later today
  12. 74/59F up here. Let's lock it in for the next week.
  13. Lava, that doesn't look good. I dethatch once a year, each spring but that doesn't look like much thatch in my opinion. Have you fertilized at all? I know it's not great for the environment but starting last year I hired a company that does lawn care. He comes once a month and applies fertilizer. They have a program so each month the application varies. In the spring weed control mixed in, then grub control yada yada. My lawn looks great but I bet if I didn't have him it would look like crap.
  14. 70/57F Clear with a refreshing cool breeze blowing through the house. Surface vis is pretty good but the sky has that hazy look. Still considerable smoke at mid levels coming out of Canada.
  15. Thursday's flash flooding on the NW side of Newfound Lake has caused a lot of debris and silt to move into the lake by the Cockermouth River. Drone shot shows it clearly
  16. I'm getting a nice view of the Metro Boston storms. Only 125 miles away. Enjoy for those that get hit
  17. Just took a drive over to the NW side of Newfound Lake. Flash flooding was major. Cockermouth River came way over it's banks bring down lots of trees. This picture is not the river but a new channel it briefly cut through the woods. Amazing how high the water came as you can see by the trailer stuck on the tree
  18. Wow last night. Lots of lightning and thunder for a few hours as I just missed by a few miles training thunderstorms. Only 1.52" in Stratus but many more inches on the north side of Newfound Lake. My neighbor Met Matt Noyes was up at his weekend place near me and texted me in the early afternoon his NBC model he uses. Showed a 3" bullseye very close to where it happened. I thought it was overdone but it was not. Gardens very happy this morning
  19. Been on the edge of heavy rain and thunderstorms all eve. Only .65" here but just north of me by a few miles I bet 2-3" towards Plymouth NH.
  20. 80/62F Haze and smoke. Even so I can see Mt Keasarge which is 20 miles south so not too bad. Lawn and flower garden watering has commenced. Last weekend's T storms .15" didn't do much. Hopefully showers and storms Thurs PM into Friday to give a soak before more dry weather. Although SNE had a very wet 2018 summer I did not. This year everything is much greener for sure
  21. Nice Alex. At least you don't have to invest in AC at the Moose Lodge and Cabins!
  22. Most of that daylight was at dawn/sunrise. For me the latest sunsets are 832pm. Starting yesterday it was 831pm and like you said the daylight loss really starts picking up this week. I begin to notice it very late in July/early August
  23. Matt Noyes and Danielle Niles have a weekend house and it's adjacent to our property. Really nice people. Visited with them today and we watched the Women's soccer game together. For them it's nice that they always know what is going on at their house since they can check into my weather site. They can go unnoticed up here since we are not in the Boston TV market so few people know who they are. High of 76 with dews in the low 50's nice breeze and clear skies is perfect for me!
