31.7F up here on the hill. Wasn't sure we would make it.

Wish the winds were not so gusty today. Quite a bit of falling leaves in my area and I'm not near peak. Must have taken down a lot of peak color at elevation exposed to wind. The snow really never materialized in the higher Whites either. I'm sure the colors will still be very good this weekend but it could have worked out better.

Did anyone post this video today? Quickly went back and didn't see it. Looked like rotation to me, watch just before it comes over the house.

45.7/40F ( can't find any reporting station lower in New England right now) Light rain shower began 20 minutes ago. Started out with some fairly large drops mixed with some ice pellets. I wasn't going to post it since you guys probably would think I was nuts but I see Mt Washington is reporting IP too. Guess if drops were big enough they could fall through 5000 feet of 40's without totally melting?

Things must have really changed fast this past week since Alex's pic's on the Kanc show great color. Franconia Notch was so green last Friday. Columbus weekend comes very late this year so most of the peak will be gone in the mountains especially if we get a heavy rain event on Monday. Next week looks to have peak in my area of Central NH. GFS has a fropa next weekend with more rain to screw up Columbus weekend. That will take down more leaves. Does anyone know how busy it is going through Franconia Notch on a peak color weekend? Is it stop and go or does it move along. Probably worth a 40 minute ride up

Could be an epic weekend for foliage photography in NNE. Snow above treeline with near peak foliage. If skies are blue everything could come together. 44.7F Overcast wood burning stove keeping house warm

More OT news. Bernie Sanders is in the hospital after chest pains yesterday. Had to put 2 stents in artery. He should be ok 60F sprinkles but blue breaks to north. About .15" last night. High was 65.7F at 530am

Loving today's warmup. 55.5F at 145pm. Been in the low clouds all day with 1/4 vis but base is rising and is right at house level. Skies are brightening so temp should jump shortly

Starting October here socked in the low clouds at my house. 51F. Got almost .20" of welcomed rain last night. Further north brought plenty of rain in September while areas a bit further south missed out. Today warm air lurks to the south. Will it make it in here later? First true fall cold air to move in soon to end the growing season for all. Perhaps the first flakes for some too??

59.3F Partly sunny with cirrus patches. High was 67F at midnight and temps fell into the 50's by 5am. Tried all day to get back to 60F but looks like a fail.

Here is a map of C/NNE rainfall over the last 30 days. We had a nice soak on the first couple of days of September. If not for that the departures would be more severe. It's another world up towards PF and Alex.

September comes to an end in very dry Central NH. Finally it looks like some rain chances. Further north there has been more rain. I am 1.78" for the month but over an inch of that occurred around Sept 2nd. Picture of Pemigewasset River in Bristol NH area.

Loaded up the ebikes and headed north on this beautiful day. Foliage is around 10-15% in Central NH. Even in Franconia Notch as you can see it was still mostly green. Color increases rapidly north of there.

62F Light to moderate rain. Really dark afternoon. The lower sun angle really makes a difference.

67.7F Scattered moderate acorn showers Rain total .04" last evening. Just enough to clean the leaves of dust along our dirt road. Caterpillar's everywhere and a huge year for acorns.

74.9F cloudy. Looks like my high will be 76.8F. Glad I don't live in SNE. Leaves really changing quickly now.
