  1. It's October 1rst so going to start a new thread for the cold season
  2. Month ends at 1.78". 1.15" fell on the 2nd. Colors are coming along. View from my road this AM
  3. 37.7F Plants get to live another few days
  4. 59.3F Partly sunny with cirrus patches. High was 67F at midnight and temps fell into the 50's by 5am. Tried all day to get back to 60F but looks like a fail.
  5. Here is a map of C/NNE rainfall over the last 30 days. We had a nice soak on the first couple of days of September. If not for that the departures would be more severe. It's another world up towards PF and Alex.
  6. September comes to an end in very dry Central NH. Finally it looks like some rain chances. Further north there has been more rain. I am 1.78" for the month but over an inch of that occurred around Sept 2nd. Picture of Pemigewasset River in Bristol NH area.
  7. Just an fyi. With this new upgrade I can delete many picture attachments all at once. Nice
  8. Loaded up the ebikes and headed north on this beautiful day. Foliage is around 10-15% in Central NH. Even in Franconia Notch as you can see it was still mostly green. Color increases rapidly north of there.
  9. 62F Light to moderate rain. Really dark afternoon. The lower sun angle really makes a difference.
  10. 61.6F Thunderstorm just to my SW. Looks to go over Brian's house shortly.
  11. 67.7F Scattered moderate acorn showers Rain total .04" last evening. Just enough to clean the leaves of dust along our dirt road. Caterpillar's everywhere and a huge year for acorns.
  12. 74.9F cloudy. Looks like my high will be 76.8F. Glad I don't live in SNE. Leaves really changing quickly now.
  13. Very warm night for me. Still 70F at 3am. Finally around 7am I bottomed out at 66.7F. Overcast this morning. 1/2" of rain for me, please?
  14. 90L just moved off the African coast and is getting it's act together very quickly. Tightening spin at the circulation center. Can't see any reason it will not be Lorenzo very soon. At this very early stage models have it recurving in the Mid Atlantic.
  15. 18Z GFS has a solution a bit like the 12Z Euro. System comes north and then gets stuck before being pushed back west or southwest
  16. 74/62 Noon. If 12Z GFS Central NH gets only a few tenths of rain with the next front. I am 1.55" for the month and 1.15" of that fell on the 2nd. It is getting dry. As far as foliage goes everything was green a few days ago but colors are now becoming noticeable.
  17. Showed this picture to a friend visiting. He insisted it was fake. Argued about it for 10 minutes and could not win. Arrgghhh.
  18. Today was the first day that I noticed the colors really starting to change.
  19. Toasty low of 38.4F. Just high enough to see over the low clouds/fog this morning. No color yet around here except a rogue swamp maple or two. Love this weather more than summer, upper 60's to low 70's.
  20. 54.5/43 (my dew seems a bit high?) Not expecting any frost up here on the hill. Gardens get to live another week at least. Some rain would be nice at some point
  21. Took this screen grab from a video from Great Abaco of the stadium effect from Dorian. Perfectly cleared out eye. Would have loved to get a drone up and have a full look around. It was perfectly calm in the video
  22. Looks like hurricane after hurricane is going to come towards the east coast and round the bend and head out. Lots of watching the next couple of weeks but just teases. This could all change but that is how it's looking at this junture.
  23. Alex, I really don't have a good idea but maybe a theory? Near ground level, at night it is much colder than say 30 or 40 feet up a tree. So maybe the average temperatures at sapling level help them "think" it's later in the season than further up the tree? That is just a hunch??????
  24. I face south so that is light pollution. Bristol NH population 3000 just south of me. Then Franklin NH pop 8500 perhaps 15 miles south of that. Concord NH 35 miles. So looking south lots of pollution.
