  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you AMWX NNE's. Congrats to the areas just north of me that got snow. Had a mix with the heavier rain bands last evening. About 25% of old snow remains while up at Alex's it's a Winter wonderland.
  2. 625pm Wed Heavy rain and snow 38.6F 75% rain but with catpaws and few mangled flakes Surprised snow is mixed in
  3. 43.6F lots of melting going on Found this picture taken yesterday of my ridge line. This is looking north from South part of Bristol NH. That white area below the black square are our fields below the house. 1100 feet. We were high enough to have a snow cover but above us it coated the trees too. Peaked Hill to the right of the house is 1940 feet the tallest hill in the local area.
  4. Nah it's yours or Phili/NYC.. Good melting day today. Then next storm is rain. Monday storm is south with blocking. I'll enjoy bare ground. I have to say that the 2" of snow we got the other day had so much water content and then froze that even with warmth and sun today it's extremely durable.
  5. Nice storm yesterday in my region. Neighbor weather spotter for Gray 2.49" liquid. Storm started as brief snow then sleet to freezing rain to rain. Little accum on front end. Then just heavy rain with occ. catpaws most of the day. Late afternoon within minutes a switch to moderate to heavy snow. It accumulated fast and then quickly turned back to rain to create slop. About 1.5" at my elevation and 1" at Newfound Lake. A few hundred feet above me over 4" fell. Brian around 20 miles south didn't have any accumulations I don't think. 2 pictures, my house from the drone this AM and my neighbor higher up on the ridgeline with over 4". Trees took a bit of a hit up there, lucky is stopped when it did.
  6. Ha, didn't happen by accident. Moved up here from Boston and built that room with a 40 mile view and lots of windows just for nights like tonight!
  7. 32.4F Rain and snow. Neighbor weather watcher just texted me 4" and still accumulating. He is at around 1400 feet and about 1/2 mile south of me
  8. Best of two worlds. Watching Pats and the snow at the same time. Intensity is decreasing and rain is mixing back in. About 1.5" which is now being compacted. Just enough to cover the ground. Brings season total to 5.75"
  9. 32.3" Light snow. Last daylight picture. Snow was lighter 15 minutes ago when I took the picture. Now big parachutes again. 1.25"
  10. 32.5F Moderate snow. About 1/2" in past 30 minutes
  11. 32.6F Transition was very quick. Will be interesting to see how fast this adds up
  12. 32.7F Light to moderate snow. Rain which had some catpaws mixed in much of the day quickly changed to snow the past 15 minutes or so. Ground has quickly become whitened.
  13. 32.9F Moderate rain now mixing with snow.
  14. 32.9F Moderate rain. Waterville Valley has new HD cam. Just flipped back to snow there after rain past couple of hours
  15. 32.5F Moderate rain with occ catpaws. Temp maxed out at 32.9F now has started drifting down. Dark day with the low sun angle. This is about as miserable as it can get without frozen. Still wondering if we can flip for awhile later??
  16. 32.9F Moderate rain with mixed catpaws. These drops are huge. When they come down it's mixed a bit. Can only tell on glass that there is a mix at times
  17. Finally above freezing 32.1F Moderate rain few catpaws mixed in at times
  18. 31.3F Light freezing rain. Starting to notice the glaze on trees. Pine branches just starting to bend. Temp rise has slowed considerably.
  19. 30.5F Freezing rain. Best I can tell it's snowing at Waterville Valley and Loon. No mangled flakes here, just ZR. Had a coating of snow and then bit of sleet earlier. Temp inching up
  20. 29.7F Light sleet and freezing rain After a bit of snow we have the light mix. I have no idea what is going to happen today. Will I stay below 32F? Reading Gray they feel better dynamics might flip me back to snow for awhile later. I am more pessimistic. Plow guys are calling me and asking me what is going to happen. Glad I am not a Met for my local area for this one
  21. Couple of days ago when you had that beautiful snowfall north of the notch was amazing too. Totally bare ground in Lincoln. Even the mountains around town were bare. Drive into Franconia Notch and come out the other side with substantial snowcover on the ground and on the trees. Guess that how it is on the different sides of the VT spine but it's think it's more rare here for abrupt changes. Maybe not? In any event you have had constant snowcover for a couple of weeks now.
  22. Wow is this a hard storm to predict for my hood for tomorrow. So marginal and every run and every model is slightly different. Almost impossible to predict sensible hourly weather for my elevation for this storm. Below freezing to start probably snow. Then going over to a mix. Perhaps moderate rain with catpaws and parachutes falling but not sticking. Honestly I have no idea other than its going to be a cold stormy day. Glad I have a sunroom with a 180 glass view over my property. Good day to be sit back on the laptop in the easy chair with the laptop and watch.
  23. It must s...k to be in SNE and watch every snow possibility be for us. It reminds me of a few years ago when SNE kept getting creamed while we had heavy virga for storm after storm. The nice thing is that it's not even Thanksgiving so lots of time for winter.
  24. 18Z Euro even further west. Low cuts through Cape Cod canel through Boston harbor to Cape Ann 978mb.. Throws 1-2" of qpf into all of NNE. Should be interesting for high elevations of Whites and especially Vermont
  25. It was last November 27th last year that I got a 13" birch wrecker. 18" up at 1400 feet but only a couple of sloppy inches down where everyone lives 500 feet or so. Driving around these parts its easy to see how many birch trees are now forever bent over. Similar event? Tonights 0Z runs will be interesting for those few of us up here.
