  1. 26.9F (High for the day) Light snow grains and freezing drizzle. Just went outside and everything is coated with a thin layer of ice. Don't know how tomorrow will play out. I expect freezing rain transitioning to snow. Evergreens already have snow on them from last nights 3.75" so I assume freezing rain mixing in with the snow will add to load. Then to finish it off with a few inches of snow and wind will make for an interesting evening. I got extra gas for the generator and heat by wood so I should be all set. Maybe this will not be a big deal but its not too often a 970mb low passes close by.
  2. 26.2F Light snow grains. I have not cleared the cars or snowblowed the 3.75" off the driveway. If tomorrow is a 34F rainer with a quick change to snow at the end I would clean everything now. If it's a 31F ZR event then snow on top as the low pulls away with a deep freeze to flow at night then its best to wait till early Sat AM. I'm so tempted to clean this powder snow now but I'll be sorry if I have an icy coating on everything if tomorrow is cold enough to stay below 32F. Thoughts?? Don't usually ask backyard questions on the board but my stress level is pretty high with other stuff going on
  3. 24.8F Very light snow grains 3.75" storm total
  4. Nice sunset tonight. Brian might know where this is. Pretty pathetic snow cover for Feb 4th. That looks to change Thursday/Friday I have been out of the loop for so long. Trying to figure out sensible weather from me to Concord NH on Thur/Friday. Seems like a total mess. I'll take snow but seems like quite a bit of ice will be involved with part 2.
  5. I don't know anything about this trail but I think (and could be very wrong) that Go Pro cams are wide angle so it might make this trail look a bit narrower than it is. Again I could be totally wrong.
  6. Holy crap. I have not been on the boards or looking at models much lately but just did. What an active pattern coming up starting late this week. So many precipitation types and storms. Winter is going to make a comeback throwing all kinds of stuff at us.
  7. Just checking in. 3-4" of hard packed snow at the house. Just did a 120 miles of driving, Newfound Lake to Dartmouth to Concord. Very thin snow cover the whole way. Bare ground in just about all places except on my hill. Well less than 50% coverage in Concord. Very quiet weather pattern which for personal reasons makes me very happy.
  8. 33.7F Moderate rain. Some catpaws have been mixed in from time to time
  9. 33.2/32 Light snow just started
  10. Hi Guys (and Diane). I have been missing in action the past week to 10 days. My husband caught Pneumonia over 3 weeks ago and it has been quite the battle. At first it was not too bad with home care but by last weekend he was in the hospital. Things got worse and worse and we almost lost him on Monday in ICU. He has been on a ventilator since then but finally today came off and is doing better but he has a strange fungal infection and they told me to expect several more weeks in the hospital. That is the only downside of living in NNE away from big medical centers. So give your love ones an extra hug because life can change in a flash. Taking a hospital break and looking at what might happen this evening. 4pm 33.1/32F here. Was 32.7/31 when I got home 2 hours ago. Noticed Euro gives me a few sloppy inches this eve but seems too warm?
  11. Going through a burst of moderate to heavy snow.
  12. 11 -SN pretty good snow growth. Eyeballing 2.5" Looking at radar Im good with echoes all the way back to Central NY so this should go for awhile. Good night
  13. 11F -SN much better snow growth. Bit over 2"
  14. flakes have become bigger since my post 25 minutes ago.
  15. 10.7F -SN poor snow growth but getting a bit better last 10 minutes. Eyeballing 3/4" ish
  16. I was just looking at the 18Z Euro. Has over .5" qpf for me. So 5" at the 10 to 1 ratio. The weatherbell product almost doubles that to about 9" for me. At 11F right now I would think ratios would be good but snow growth is so poor right now. It's not pixel dust but sure not nice flakage either. Precip is going to have to pick up this snow is very light. Vis is down because of such small flake size. This will be a very easy storm to cleanup.
  17. Welcome. We need more posters up here.
  18. 405pm start time 12/4F Pixel dust snow doesn't help with snow ratios.
  19. Watching the ridges disappear quickly. Start time for you and me will be within 15 minutes. Snow seems to be slightly ahead of schedule 13/0F
  20. Going to start awfully cold up here 1245pm 12/1F Sun dimly vis
  21. Clouds thickening up. 6.5F as of 930am up here in Central NH
  22. What would be the realistic ratios up here? Tomorrow night's lows look like in the mid to upper teens while the snow falls. Then towards the end we rise into the upper 20's. Seem like some good ratios?
  23. My afternoon high today was 8F, low -1.2F although I was at 14F at midnight. Will today be the coldest high afternoon temp of the season? Next Tuesday might be colder. We are just about at the climatological lowest temperatures of the year about now.
  24. Wish this was a daylight storm. Seems like it will start around dark and end around dawn. Good night for the spot lights.
