  1. 19.6F Light to moderate snow. About 2" (Not great snow growth so far)
  2. 18.5F Light snow vis about 1 mile (not great snow growth)
  3. Clouds have been pretty thick all day. Seemed to be stuck at 33.8F A couple of drips off the roof but no real melting today. Doesn't look like much melting this week just adding to snowcover on Tuesday.
  4. Balmy -6.5F on my hill. Alex, like you said that strong sun makes a difference. We are almost 2 months since the winter solstice. Sun angle today is like late October. Sun is starting to make the dents in south facing snow banks and warming up car interiors.
  5. 215pm Clear skies 9.8F Snow depth 10" 58.75" season (SNE your missing out on so much fun!) PS Anyone that wants to take a 1:50 minute drive from downtown Boston and come up and chip ice dams tomorrow off my roof, be my guest. I'll let you use my snowblower and make a paths in my back fields too. Knock yourself out!
  6. 1.25"!!! Quite the bust.
  7. I was surprised to wake up to almost 1" of snow. We got about 1/4" yesterday morning too. Slowly ticking up to around 57" for the season. It doesn't seem like I have gotten that much with frequent thaws but we have managed to have a fairly constant snow cover most of the winter. If bare patches during warm spells on south facing slopes. Looks like a 3-6" snowfall tomorrow. Once we move to late February with increasing solar insulation I am ready for spring although I know March is still a winter month in NNE
  8. 31.6F Thick fog. Gray and wintery today. Light snow started around 8am and gave me about 1/4". Bit of freezing drizzle during the day but temps have remained below freezing. Ceiling has been very low so mostly in low clouds all day. 9" at the snow stake and the snow is dense with quite a bit of sleet mixed in.
  9. 31.5F light to almost moderate snow 3"
  10. 29.6F Light snow vis about 3/4 mile 2"
  11. Saw that -24F on Alex's weather station. I can't remember but I think he recorded a -34F last year. That might be the lowest temperature since moving to there. I had a balmy 0F up on the hill. Never do good with radiational cooling my best is CAA temps. It is really beautiful around here with the ice on the trees. Starts just north of Tilton NH on Rt 93.
  12. Storm total was about 6" Interesting ride today from Concord NH north to my house. I had mostly sleet yesterday with some freezing drizzle and a bit of freezing rain. Just 5 miles south of me was much heavier freezing rain with all the trees glazed. A really beautiful ride from here to around Brian's area. Around Concord NH the ground was snow covered but only looked like a couple of inches. The hilltops had glaze but lower elevations did not.
  13. 28.9F flurries Just snow blew the driveway for the 3rd time with this storm. 1/2 of sleet/freezing rain mixed together into a dense frozen mess. 1.5" of snow on top of that. Everything seems encased in ice and snow. Total winter wonderland. Event total so far 3.75" snow .50" sleet and 1.5" snow past couple of hours 5.75" event total. No bare ground for along while up here.
  14. 30F Moderate snow Glad today was mostly IP without tree damage.
  15. 29F Light snow. Changeover is now complete
  16. 29.1F Moderate IP but looks like it's about to flip
  17. 30.6F -SG- IP Eyeballing 1/2" of sleet since the first part of the storm yesterday. Storm total around 4.25" ish Heavier echoes about to move back in from the south
  18. 31.0F IP+ Temp seemed to max out about 30 minutes ago at 32.1F now falling back
  19. 30.7F Light sleet grains. Very happy so far there is little glazing
  20. 27.2F (high for the day) Light freezing drizzle and a few ice pellets
  21. 26.9F (High for the day) Light snow grains and freezing drizzle. Just went outside and everything is coated with a thin layer of ice. Don't know how tomorrow will play out. I expect freezing rain transitioning to snow. Evergreens already have snow on them from last nights 3.75" so I assume freezing rain mixing in with the snow will add to load. Then to finish it off with a few inches of snow and wind will make for an interesting evening. I got extra gas for the generator and heat by wood so I should be all set. Maybe this will not be a big deal but its not too often a 970mb low passes close by.
  22. 26.2F Light snow grains. I have not cleared the cars or snowblowed the 3.75" off the driveway. If tomorrow is a 34F rainer with a quick change to snow at the end I would clean everything now. If it's a 31F ZR event then snow on top as the low pulls away with a deep freeze to flow at night then its best to wait till early Sat AM. I'm so tempted to clean this powder snow now but I'll be sorry if I have an icy coating on everything if tomorrow is cold enough to stay below 32F. Thoughts?? Don't usually ask backyard questions on the board but my stress level is pretty high with other stuff going on
