  1. Nice severe snow squalls moving Central NH. I've only had the run of the mill squalls with probably an inch or so but glad some of you are getting the super intense ones. Not a good commute on Rt 93 right now. Was slightly above freezing and now it's dark with near zero visibility in many places.
  2. 29F S+ Vis about 1/8 mile Getting dark so you can't really see flakage
  3. Getting dark to the west. Always interesting to see what makes it over the mountains. Meanwhile, it looks like quite the icestorm potential later this weekend for someone. Will it be S Quebec or NNE? Seems these ice storm products are always over done but even 1/2 of these amounts would cause big problems.
  4. As I await the fropa and snow squalls I'll post this picture. So many frickin deer in our apple orchard last night. Bucks and does. I can see a dozen or more yarding up in the woods right now. We had a bumper crop of apples but they are now about gone. Lots of working digging through the 5-8" of that sleet/freezing rain/snow combo from last week . Here is a picture of the activity from the past 24 hours. The 3.75" of snow from two days ago had covered the old tracks so this is from last night. I know you are not suppose to feed deer any food and I don't anymore but since they all yard up behind the house I figure that I might buy some deer apples and scatter them around each day. That is what they have been eating the past couple of months so it's not changing their metabolism. They are smart and know the south facing slope will always have less snow and be the first to melt off so they stick around the house each winter. Wonder if this weekends warmth will be enough to melt some bare spots? Probably not since this snow has so much water content and is very durable.
  5. We took a ride up to Alex's today. 9" at the snow stake here but only a few inches in the Plymouth to Lincoln area. Snow cover becomes deeper north of Franconia Notch. A local photographer was in front of our house this afternoon and posted this picture of our road. Nothing special, fairly typical January day. The weekend situation seems like it's becoming a warmer solution. Really warm in the east coast cities. Mid 60's
  6. 3.5" today. 1.25" with clipper system and the rest were 2 heavy snow squalls this eve. Total fluff and used leaf blower to clean off driveway
  7. I know it's not the right thread but getting hit with multiple snow squalls. One after the other. Closing in on 3" today... Okay, back to the weekend discussion
  8. 21 Partly cloudy flurries We just had a crazy snow squall. 1.25" in about 20 or 30 minutes During the day today light snow gave me just under 1.50" before the squall. Nice little 2.75" event. More streamers seem to be coming west to east towards me. I usually don't pay much attention because the Greens capture most everything. Didn't work this evening
  9. Heavy snow shower (630pm). Measured 1.5" before this Edit. Snow shower gave me a quick 1.25" additional within half an hour or so. Nice little 2.75" event today
  10. A bit of an over performer here. About 1.25" so far and still light snow with vis about 1.5 miles
  11. 23F Moderate snow. Nice little echo over Central NH.
  12. 1145am Monday Light to almost moderate snow 22F.
  13. I just drove down to Bristol (NH). Big difference in just 5 miles. Still lots of snow flurries here and added about 1/4" this morning. Lots of blowing around of snow around 1.25" to 1.50" but in Bristol about 1/4". My elevation helped last evening as it snowed with temp around 32.2-4F. It was a fail as I thought we were good for 2-5". Next...
  14. 32.5F Very light snow and snow grains. Very unimpressed with this system. Although it was of really no concern in SNE or much of CNE I figured my elevation would at least help to give me a few inches but is not working out. Light rain all day with some catpaws. Then a change to very light snow late this afternoon. Temp fell to 32.4F and got stuck there leaving a slight slush accumulation of perhaps 1/4" if that. Maybe later tonight with the secondary forming we will cash in on some light snow to refresh. We will see...
  15. 32.4F Very light snow. Vis about 2 miles or so. Just starting to stick on old snow and dirt road.
  16. 34.6F Light rain and snow 70/30 rain/snow Temperature has fallen 1.5F since mid day. Rain is slowly turning to snow. Keeps going back and forth but the trend is in the right direction
  17. 36/35 Light rain with occ cat paws the past couple of hours. Temp has remained between 35.7 and 36.1 I had expected a snowy day at my elevation but instead wet and raw. I still expect a switch to snow.
  18. 35.9/35 Light rain mixed with some catpaws
  19. 36/34 Light rain. Looking at the higher ridges above 2000 ft it looks to be raining all the way up to the tops. Usually as it mixes the tops will get obscured first I don't see that yet
  20. Calm day today. Newfound Lake is still open. Usually by now we have the lake mostly frozen.
  21. I like my location as far as the boards go because I'm 17 miles north north west of Brian and 600 to 700 feet higher. Many people are saying Congrads Dendrite so I can take their posts and his forecast and know that usually I'll score a tick or 2 better.
  22. I was just looking up New Sharon Maine, trying to get a feel on where the NNE posters are. I think you might be the furthest north of everyone. Alex and Pfreak are slightly south of due west of you.
  23. Bit over 1/4" in flurries last night brings me to 30" for the season. Lots of weather possibilities in the future. No super arctic air which is fine by me but hopefully cold enough to start building up the pack.
