  1. You’re too kind....whining starts at least 4 days before an event..lol
  2. That’s a cool image. Live report from ILM. No snow on ground...lol. and thank goodness my kids school (in Charlotte) didn’t cancel class today.
  3. Snowing in Wilmington .lets see what happens...
  4. Not that anyone cares... but I’m in Wrightsville Beach... still raining
  5. I’m in Wilmington for work tonight. Made the 3 1/2 lovely drive in constant steady rain. just stuck my head outside...and still just raining steady here.. fwiw
  6. Yep. Dp went from 30 to 28 about an hour ago, now back up to 29
  7. 43 degrees this AM in Charlotte.. radars definitely not looking to be an issue,
  8. I’ll be running away from any winter weather tomorrow. 10:30 meeting in Charlotte, then have to be in Wilmington by 4/5....y’all have fun
  9. Just can’t see much clearing from the looks of this... https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G16&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12 ed:maybe not the right band to look at ed2: looking at Sugar webcams, definitely clearing there,
  10. Haha, noticed that too. But I went to MS State, so I figured it out.
  11. Ok. Point taken. But you have to admit that first map was pretty bad. The follow ups made more sense, and I’m not talking about forecast amounts people.
  12. Literally every zone this guy forecast is basically exactly the same “a few or a couple or several inches” ...why is the UNCC Grad student held in such high regard by some here, but real, actual meteorologists are not.
  13. Ever hear the phrase, “It’s not you, it’s me..”
  14. In the 13 years we’ve been here it’s probably only the 2nd time I’ve gotten our one safe space (a closet) cleared out for sever weather. My daughter (home sick from school) thought it was pretty exciting for a few minutes, getting to huddle in the closet with mom. Totally foreign to her. I’ve always been fascinated with tornadoes, and have been real close a number of times, but I’ve got to say, it’s been kind of nice not having to worry too much about them here in the Carolinas.
  15. I’m not sure how old your wife is, but I bet she’s heard of the Guin storm 1974 The famous super outbreak. I was 6 at the time. I don’t remember that day specifically, but I’m sure I spent the day huddled up somewhere.
  16. I can’t ever remember them cancelling school in my day, but there were days where we basically spent the entire day in the hall. I remember once in 8th grade or so, they sent us to the halls and I got a glimpse out of door, and evil cloud looked to be about 200 ft off the ground, rolling over the football field. Not a twister, but was trying mightily to become one. I did have my mom pick me up from elementary school once in the middle of the day when we lived in Tupelo, cause it was warning after warning. Also in Tupelo spent many nights in the most primitive leaky, dark, spider infested storm shelter, until the the neighbors across the street built a nice, fancy one under ground.
  17. I’ve lived here for around 13 years now. No, never seen a day like this here. now, when I lived in Mississippi, days like this were literally a dime a dozen.
  18. If your mental health hinges on snow, perhaps you should move further north than South Carolina. Dont you love Mack’s “Big Dog”, “Boom”, and “winters over” posts all on the same page? He really should be banned from any model analysis and forecasting. He muddies everything up for people who don’t know anything like myself. He adds NOTHING. He makes Brick look like Joe Bastardi. Glad to see Matt East call him out. How does he skate in that forum?
  19. You are such a goof. Loved Matt calling you out.
  20. If there is any justice, a mega storm rolls through and they can’t play the game.
  21. Hah! I remember Dave Brown. I grew up early in life, in Tupelo. Watched every Saturday morning as well. Jerry The King Lawler, Tojo Yamamoto, and of course, Jim Cornett. Memphis was the epicenter. I was in Louisiana in 1985, so that particular cold wave doesn’t stick out. I remember some very cold spells, and great storms in central MS in the 70’s-80’s. Walked out onto the frozen Ross Barnett Reservoir during one. Not particularly smart.
