  1. Paltry here. Tiny flakes and a dusting, 28F
  2. Doesn't bode well for up this way. We were supposed by snowing by 7 or 8, and from radar you'd think it was on the doorstep. Lots of dry air; driving home at around 5:00 with some light left in the sky you could see the virga, like out west during the summer.
  3. GYX's AFD alluded to that. We occasionally get some love from those around here - but notoriously tough to pin down even a few hours out.
  4. Most of the Maine coastal plain will still be green. Maybe we see an inch over the course of 48 hours, but it looks like I may get through the entire month of January without touching the snow-blower.
  5. Well, at least I can watch it snow in Green Bay on Sunday.
  6. I haven’t witnessed a flake in about two weeks.
  7. The most boring January in recorded history continues. Can't even get a brief squall here.
  8. lol - two runs ago the primary was wound up and running up through Michigan, with some decent overrunning potential for us. Now it's sheared and south of NE.
  9. Looking forward to re-freezing the mud. Unmitigated disaster of a January.
  10. Pounding rain and roaring wind, 41F. Gusts are stronger than anything we had during the much-hyped Grinch “screamer.”
  11. Cumberland County here in Maine is still "code yellow," which means no school sports for at least another two weeks - not even something like swimming, where there's no close contact and you're saturated in chlorine. But I can turn on my TV and see people playing football, basketball and hockey all around the country - not to mention club sports here. My high school senior lost all of last spring, and is on track to lose his entire senior year of activities. He worked his butt off to earn a captaincy for this season and probably won't get to compete. I have yet to see any evidence of school-sports-related transmission in my area, and my general understanding is that it's been minimal everywhere. I've generally been in favor of caution, but it just feels absurd at this point.
  12. As 40/70 responded, that was 2003. That's been my avatar for a while.
  13. Days and days... ...of model runs left
  14. And then we can all start fretting about the inevitable pattern breakdown.
  15. Retro flurries. The pavement was dusted early this morning, but that's melted. Temps have been remarkably stable - seems like we've hovered a couple degrees on either side of 30 for days. As Tamarack mentioned earlier, low temps have been way above normal.
  16. In all seriousness, it's amazing how green some of my grass is. Wish it had looked as good in August.
  17. Yeah, getting shredded. I’d be shocked to see more than a light dusting here.
  18. Three days of intermittent light snow with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Definition of nuisance.
  19. Ugh - disappointing trends for non-downeast Maine. What looked like a nice one-two punch may turn out to be a rainer followed by a borderline whiff. At least the ski areas got some snow from the one that's winding down now.
