  1. Guess I’ll start pulling for that. Current precip gradient north of NE MA/ SE NH is brutal. Will be lucky to pull out 6” here at this rate.
  2. Very light snow blowing around, 28
  3. Persistent hole in the radar right over me, with nothing falling for at least the past half hour. Three hours since first flakes and we have about half an inch. Starting to get a sinking feeling about this one.
  4. LOL - PWM area in a sucker hole right now. Just a dusting so far, and bone dry at the moment. 28 with wind really picking up.
  5. Picked up pretty quickly after the onset, as advertised. Pavement coated, snow blowing around. Ticked down to 28F.
  6. Getting whiplash going back-and-forth from CT to EMA posts. A tale of two storms.
  7. I never buy into the long-duration/multi-phase scenarios. Almost never plays out that way.
  8. GYX seems to think we're done with anything consequential by midday tomorrow - then some sleet, drizzle and light snow as we dry-slot. By Wednesday it's sunny, and then we get ready for some rain toward the end of the week. The whole idea of the secondary swath of meaningful snow from GOM redevelopment late tomorrow and beyond seems to have disappeared, at least for my part of Maine.
  9. Starting to feel like it's never going to get here.
  10. I'm going to be stuck on Zoom for a Boston public meeting right as things start to ramp up here this evening. One of the many casualties of the pandemic - an event that would've been canceled due to the storm goes on as planned. This seems like one of those storms where I miss seeing the meat of it. Looks like the good stuff will be mostly overnight, winding down in the morning.
  11. Eerily quiet here. I thought we might get some OES in advance of the main event as sometimes happens with these, but nada. Looks like the leading edge is gradually approaching the NH/ME border, at least on radar.
  12. Overcast with increasing N breeze - 29F
  13. I'll take the over on that. We're not going to see the insane numbers that are piling up south of here (we rarely do when the MA is really hammered), but I think a foot is realistic.
  14. The whole concept of a snow day is sadly gone for many with office jobs - at least this winter, and maybe forever now that companies know people can and will work from home. I always enjoyed the relative quiet when I and everyone I worked with was snowed in at home, and the general attitude was "stay safe and enjoy the snow." Now the assumption is that we're all logged in and working/zooming no matter what. The difference was really noticeable during that mid-December storm; was just another day at the office, with wall-to-wall emails, calls and video. Even once we're all back to our offices, I worry that the remote-work infrastructure that's been established will mean a permanent expectation that there are no days off.
  15. Days and days of non-accumulating flurries followed by a grazer, followed by a rainer. The epicosity continues.
  16. Nada here now. This stuff is so hit-or-miss.
  17. Sun trying to peek through. Maybe we can pop some convection...
  18. Keep getting little pulses of decent snow here - very showery. It hasn't amounted to much, but looks nice.
  19. At least it's been consistent with the cutter that's right on its heels.
  20. We've had some intermittent light snow here over the past hour or so. Nothing consequential, but it adds to the quasi-wintry appeal. Would be nice to get the grass covered.
  21. Sneaky torchy here - sun peeking out at times, 36F. Lots of grass showing through our light coating (ended up with maybe an inch?).
