    That’s a good way to think about it. Super cold with bare ground sucks. If the sixth is still there on Tuesday, I’ll invest lol Definitely a fear that the blocking will be so strong after the sixth that north of the Massachusetts’s gets leftovers. Though it does seem that a lot of models take the heavy snow right up into NNE.

    The only thing I will let myself believe at this point is that we are going to have at least two weeks of real cold from around the 4th, and that the chances for a big East coast storm are high. Can’t get into specific dates yet. I mean Jan 8 is 11 days away. Not going to get invested yet like last year.

    Yeah it is outside 6 days so I feel like it is in play for jan2-3. Especially since the pattern will be changing significantly at that time which gives more uncertainty

    Which is why I thought it was weird when my zones had gotten colder. I haven’t read the discussion yet.

    Zones are looking colder and a bit more frozen up here from Saturday through Tuesday

    A few weeks ago, I committed to ignoring anything until inside six days. Seems like we have some crappy weather for a few days and then the first possibility for something snow here at least for some of us is probably January 2. The rest of it is all up for grabs, but there are hopeful signs.

    I think most of us are jaded so we have to be tempered at this point. it’s good. It’s the holiday time because that will make the time seem to go more quickly because for many of us we are having pleasant distractions.

    Waiting for one of those Tip threads. I thought the one for December 20-22 was really interesting and bore fruit even if not a big snowstorm for us. I guess you are already doing it here in this thread Tip.
