  1. I got you beat on that. Between 3:00 and 3:25 I had 1.42" of rain. I completely missed it as I was at the gym in Mechanicsburg. Didn't even know it had rained that much until I was browsing through the earlier posts here. Then I took a look at my weather station and was totally surprised. That's an incredible amount of rain for such a short period of time. Today's rainfall makes 5 of the last 8 days (since 7/4) with over 1" of rainfall. I've recorded 7.73" of rain in the past 8 days. I'm ready to say it's a near lock that I'll exceed 10" by the end of the month. Certainly wondering how much of the hurricane moisture makes its way up here. Sounds like it is progged to move northward and then get picked up by a front and shunted eastward towards our area.
  2. I'm on track to see possibly another 10" precip month. I'm pretty sure last July I had just under 10" of rain. YTD total currently stands at 33.91".
  3. Guys, the rainfall abated for a while around midnight giving me a daily total of 1.95". However, around 4am another deluge came back and by 8am I picked up another 1.66"! That gives me four of the last five consecutive days with over 1" of rainfall each day. Also, in the 14 hours between 6pm last night and 8am this morning I picked up 3.60" of rain. I'm still waiting to see if my my creek is going to flood. It hasn't yet, but should continue to rise throughout today and may overflow its banks by this evening. I live safely along the Conodoguinet just above the flood plain. Month-to-date rainfall total now stands at 6.43".
  4. Picked up 1.5" in the past 45 minutes, 1.66" total on the day. Looks likely will exceed 2" before it ends.
  5. Well guys, it's absolutely pouring here AGAIN! For the past 3 of 4 days (4, 5, 7th) I've recorded over an inch of rain. 1.25" on the 4th, 1.5" on the 6th, and I just hit the 1" mark right now with what looks like easily another 0.5" or more yet to come. I'm under a Flood Advisory issued 15 minutes ago. Will send out another update when it ends. Looked at my records and I'm up to 30.55" for the year and have exceeded the normal monthly July rainfall already in the first week of this month.
  6. I am...haha. Just picked up 1.12" in the past 30 minutes. Lots of lightning and thunder. Still raining now but lessening up considerably.
  7. Incredible...5 tornado warnings up north again (as of 3:40pm) between IPT and AVP right over the same area that had them yesterday! Edit>>Forgot to mention about half a dozen severe thunderstorm warnings in effect now throughout the state.
  8. About 20 minutes ago radar showed 5 tornado warnings in effect...4 up north between IPT and AVP and one down south between LAN and RDG. There's a parade of thunderstorms marching east from north of PIT right now that looks like it could hit the lower susq region in a few hours.
  9. Now there's a man who thinks like I do! The longer range sounds like it is going to pan out like Larry Cosgrove discussed in his recent newsletter. He said first half of May normal to below with several cold air intrusions, second half much above temps. Then he says summer will turn much drier but will remain hot and humid as we get stuck under the influence of massive SE ridge. So far, my A/C's been running just fine and will keep on running I guess until September.
