  1. Even down at my office on Bald Mtn. Rd there's about the same amount. Makes me wonder what that moisture-starved piece of energy might be able to wring out as it passes to the SW tonight. Maybe the SW mountain folks can get a little something as well. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. Woke up to almost an inch of powder outside. Still snowing pretty good too and 7.4°/6.
  3. Just walked outside. We have flurries here as well! And dang is that a cold NW wind. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. It's nice just to have something to be somewhat optimistic about.
  5. You can really see that in this gif of the last 12 gfs runs at 12z Tuesday. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. GSP seems pretty confident it'll be too moisture starved. I'm hoping for a surprise, but the way this winter is going I'm expecting disappointment.
  7. Yeah, still waiting on something over 3" up here, but I lived in central SC for 30 years. Believe me, I feel fortunate to live where I do. Tuesday continues to interest me...
  8. At least they stopped posting every 240+hr snow map they could find 4 times a day. It's been entertaining. And I can't tell when Mack is serious and when he's sarcastic, lol. Maybe it's his profile pic throwing me off. I'm optimistic about the upcoming pattern. I don't think it would take too much tweaking to make next week interesting. Are the Great Lakes still unfrozen? Asking for a friend... I'm kinda curious about this weekend too.
  9. The long term disco is an absolute dumpster fire. What happened to waiting until storms get closer to the mid range before we start posting clown maps four times a day? Come on y'all, we're better than this.
  10. Possible tornado in Horry County about an hour ago. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. That's one thing I love about our group. We don't live and die with every run. In other news, it is seriously windy tonight! Several gusts over 50 mph in the last few hours with a max of 59.
  12. That's a nice blue norther. I experienced a few of those living in Sherman, TX.
  13. Just went to my house for lunch, 27° and light snow still with around 1.5" on the ground. Add another nickel and dime to the piggy bank.
  14. Went from 38 and rain to 30 and moderate snow in less than 15 minutes. Roads are already covered above 3300'.
  15. I think I got about 2", but before I actually measured the wind picked up in the 30-40mph with a few gusts over 50 and stayed there for the better part of two hours. There's still about 1.75" on the ground so I'm going with that. It's a good thing I have so much practice at being disappointed by winter from my time in Columbia. Underwhelming season thus far. Oh, and sorry HvWard, I couldn't share any videos since I'm in fb jail...again.
  16. Just took this on the back porch. You can see how well it's coming down right now.
  17. 33° and moderate snow now with a lot of wind. Edit: 15 minutes later and it's partly cloudy. Looks like the NW flow is just beginning to set up from the cloud direction.
  18. WWA's up for the border areas. Ashe, Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey included.
  19. I just noticed GSP bumped me up to 3-5" in the forecast for tomorrow. We shall see.
  20. 12z GFS is pretty optimistic about snow chance along the border next week. I'm not getting my hopes up as long as the Euro shows rain though...I've seen how this usually plays out.
  21. I've had over 9' of snow in the last two seasons, and according to long time residents they've both been below normal years for my neighborhood. Cool to look at but I seriously question the accuracy.
