Beautiful icy day in the high country! Sitting at 19° now. I had to drive around the outside of my neighborhood to get to work...a 45 minute drive vs. an 8 minute drive normally. That jeep does great in the snow, but ice is ice lol. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Starting out the day at 12°. It's gonna take a while today for the roads to improve up here. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Currently 19° with over 3" now and still coming. There's a nice layer of ice too. I Charlie Browned when I walked out in the yard. Guess it's time to put the flip flops away for the winter. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Just got home. The jeep barely noticed. Anyway, there's 2" of granular so far. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Probably about time to head home for me. This is at 3100'. I have a 1300' climb to make in about 3 miles. Fun stuff. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I was at 43° at 1800. 2 hours later I'm sitting at 38° and I can hear the wind picking up on the ridge top. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I'm typically directly upstream from Mitchell in these events (~315-320°) and I think Big Bald (5516') has a lot to do with it. The 3000' asl valley between me and Mitchell might cause a little downsloping which doesn't help either. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

After a high of 34° yesterday the temp rose and hung out around 40° all night. Currently at 41°. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

It is very cold and and very bright this morning. Down to 13 predawn but we've rebounded all the way to 14 now. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Looks like 10.5" is where I'm ending at. A good day. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

10" now! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Yeah, I believe it.. I'm pretty sure these drifts are easily 4'+. The orientation of my house plus the topography make it pile up on that side. I'm itching to walk up to the top of the bald today. The wife made me promise I wouldn't do it alone anymore (sigh) so I'm looking for a fellow crazy person to go with. My usual hiking partner is battling really aggressive cancer so he can't now. Still coming down! Still some returns upstream but I doubt I have another inch coming. I measure 10-11" in lots of places but 9"was on my board. I have some really big drifts on the nnw side of the house. I'll try to get behind the house and snap a pic later. 1:30 update: I was wrong! Double digits now. This was the best nwf event (by a lot) I've seen since moving here! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

To a guy that grew up below Columbia like me this is almost heavenly. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Woke up to 16° and light to moderate snow still falling. 8" on the ground is a great start to the season! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I do well up to the 340s. There's nothing upstream anywhere near Big Bald's elevation. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

This is the most I've had on the ground since 12/21/18. That was 8.75". Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Just hammering away outside. Man I missed this! That second picture may be the coolest snow pic I've taken. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
