2022-2023 Fall/Winter Mountains Thread
Buckethead replied to BlueRidgeFolklore's topic in Southeastern States
So I just checked around me. Heading towards the border, I measure 18" about 400' further up the mountain. Going the other way to the country club (about the same elevation as me but a mile further from the border and more exposed to the wind) I measured 12 or so. There's one helluva gradient in a very short distance...I'm really curious about what's up on the top of the mountain, but the road is nearly impassable at the moment. Morning yall...so I don't know how accurate my measurement is MotoWeatherman . The wind really picked up overnight and there was a 22" deep drift on my measuring board so I measured about a dozen other spots and the depth varied from just under this to 24" deep. So call it 14" if ya want, I'm not going back outside right now. It's and moderate snow is still falling. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk -

I know the feeling. Last year I had to replace the vacuum pump and brake booster in my truck after dislocating my knee during the big storm on 1/13. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk -

You can see how large the flakes are getting here. The direction you see the roof in is looking NNW towards my house and the state line. https://wolflaurelweather.com/Wolf+Laurel+Club+Cam/Stream Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk -

12z euro looks pretty good with 4-10" totals on the border. One thing to keep in mind is those totals are at 10:1 when we should have 15-20:1 ratios according to other guidance. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk -

The 12z Nam surface reflectivity looks odd. No squall line with the front and a pretty anemic looking nwf behind. It could end up being right, but it just looks odd to me. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk- 923 replies
