  1. Geez that's **does math** a wind chill value of -55° in Boone! I thought the -42 in my forecast was impressive. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  2. Nope, everything is wet and we're in the cloud deck here in Wolf, but it's 33.4 thankfully. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  3. The 12z hrrr 2m temp drops are staggering. It has me at 32° at 6z and -13° by 12z. 45° in 6 hours! KVAL goes from 39° to -2° in the same time frame. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  4. A 26° drop in 3 minutes. Wow. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  5. Geez, it has me in the same ballpark...-13 with wc below -40. It has -50 wc values in the black and craggy mountains! Ray's is pretty optimistic about snow totals in his discussion. 1-3" with double or more on the border. At this point I'll take covering the leaves as a win. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  6. Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere Friday. [emoji3063][emoji3063][emoji3063] Thursday Night Rain before 3am, then sleet between 3am and 4am, then snow after 4am. Low around 3. Wind chill values as low as -6. Windy, with a south wind 14 to 19 mph becoming west 27 to 32 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible. Friday A chance of snow before 9am, then a slight chance of snow showers between 9am and noon. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 6. Windy, with a west northwest wind 30 to 33 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  7. I usually like to walk around taking photos during snowy weather. I think may stay instead this round if reality is anywhere close to this. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  8. With wind chills -20 to -30. Geez. Definitely time to put the flip flops away now. Also, check out the 0z cmc for the 27th-28th. That time frame is looking more and more interesting. The gfs looked like it wanted to pop a low on the coast but never did. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  9. @Tyler Penland (and anyone else under those returns) are you seeing anything reaching the ground? Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  10. I noticed that...I'm still pretty optimistic about the upslope component! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  11. Dropped to 16 this morning with a very light dusting of powder...just enough to see on the grill cover. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah I'm heading home in piney flats tn and have flurries right now. I'm hoping it's doing this up at the house too. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  13. Yup, I'd take the ~ 12" it shows here and smile! Hell, I'll take 1" and be grateful at this point. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  14. Still a long way off, but it's nice to see digital snow in the hourly weather graph! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  15. The GEFS just gets better and better. 6" mean up here along the border. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  16. The 06z GFS delivered a proper clown map. I'll take my 30" and call it a week! **for entertainment purposes only** Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  17. Looks like flip flop season is just about over. I put them away once we hit 0. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  18. 35 with very light flurries right now here in Wolf. I thought surely I was mistaken, but nope...I've been watching for 10 minutes now. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  19. Are you local to Big Bald? Just curious, I live on the SE slope of it. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  20. This caught my eye. Almost covering the entire lower 48. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  21. When I read this the interest level for next weekend went wayyyy up in my head. That flow looks to be pretty impressive! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  22. The realistic side of me knows this is in fantasy land on the GFS. The weenie in me can't stop looking anyway. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  23. Yup, climatology is on our side more and more every day. I'm just patiently waiting! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
