Sorry this happened. Rule of thumb for job offers is no legitimate company will offer a job without a face-to-face or at least a video interview. Be careful of links to document sites, etc. Always check emails, those usually give scammers away. They pray on people who are too busy to check. Scam emails I get are emails that usually end with gmail.com or some domain other than the company referred to in the email. Instant trashcan for me. I'm super critical of most things. I'm getting older, so I may not be as sharp as I used to be. And with AI, catching scams are getting a lot tougher. I'm starting to fall for the AI slop online. Imagine how scammers can use AI in these situations. I imagine in a few years you will be talking to someone in a video conference and they are AI! Stay vigilant. Hope your kid gets a great job.

The bar can be in the conference room.

Hey, if I ever win the Powerball I will purchase or build a mini hotel in the mountains (Deep Creek?) with like 10 hotel rooms, a kitchen, a game room, and a conference room with screens where we can get together and track some storms! Cool? No? lol EDIT: I guess a cheaper option would be just to reserve some rooms at an existing hotel. lol

Wow! Even the plow has chains!

Chip chip chippin' away at the snowpack.

At least it was cloudy. At night.

Not happy that the cloud cover disappeared completely. But oh well. It's been either absolutely clear or cloudy. Never in between. lol Be nice to be mostly cloudy on these warm days. Meh.

PGCPS closed again tomorrow. I think from the current situation with roads and schools this little MECS that we had should probably be in the HECS category. I've been in the DC area, I can't ever recall county schools being closed this many days in a row. See posts online from a lot of Michigan and New England folks saying they've never experienced anything like this. They're used to snow, but are baffled by the snowcrete.

36F The individual ice chucks are now going to melt into big mountains of ice chunks that will still be around come June.

Me either. The only downside to this winter wonderland is that any outdoor sports are put on hold indefinitely. My son plays tennis and we usually practice when the temps are at least 40F+. But it's been over a week of subfreezing temps and all the outdoor courts are covered with snowcrete until April it seems.

At least the clouds will slow the melting.

PGCPS closed today. We drove by my daughter's school just yesterday afternoon and the entrance hadn't even been touched!

You guys have no idea how happy I am that my kids got to experience something I have never experienced myself. We went snow tubing on a local field that was at least 6 acres. Walking on the clean snowpack without our feet making footprints was wild! I'm 280lbs and I was literally running and my feet did not create footprints! And the tubing on the slickest surface ever? Kids loved it. The tube went fast and far. They could even slide down the hill on their butts! They laughed and had a good time. It is an awesome experience. If we don't get another inch, the last storm will create lasting memories which is good for any kid.

Like I said, I'd be happy with 2. Or just 1. I just like watching it fall. The cold temps keeping it around for a few days is a bonus. -

I'd be happy with 2-4" to coat the existing browning snow we have. Should be enough to make the kids happy as Monday would certainly be another snow day. At this point, I just want snow TV. -

Didn't I read someone say that strong cyclones tend to move more N than forecast due to the earth's rotation or something like that? Some people mention land interaction, hugging the coast, etc. (re: like hurricanes). It may have not been in this forum. -

Waiting for those glorious words from a met, "I don't believe the models have a good handle on this." -

Watch it comes when we lose all this cold air and we'll be dealing with sun angles and marginal temps. -
Prince George's is closed until Friday.

Our neighborhood has not been plowed. Whole 5" + sleet is still covering the road. Went out last night to the grocery store to restock for potential snow this weekend and even with tire chains, it was difficult to get out.
