  1. Yay, another .2. At least it keeps things looking sorta wintry.
  2. A month of easterlies in the fall was odd. We've had some windy periods in the winter before, maybe not this significant (?) but, I think a big part of how we're reacting is that we haven't had much the last few years and memories are shorter than they used to be. I don't know about others but I'm less tolerant of the cold than I was so that's part of it too.
  3. Ha! I tried and that's how I found out how sticky this stuff is. It wouldn't blow off anything easily! lol
  4. Have you been seeing anything from the streamers the last few days? I went up 22 on Saturday and it went from sticks to winter all of a sudden with obvious showers over the high country.
  5. .3 or so today. Just enough that I hear there are a bunch of accidents in the area. I'm gonna go make the long trip to the mailbox and see what's up in the driveway. Working for yourself is where it's at.
  6. Done for the day? .3 or so of light, fluffy, sticky stuff. What? It was tiny flakes for the first hour or two and that filled in small spaces before the flakes got big for an hour and stuck to the other stuff. With the cold and *here it comes* low sun angle it should stick around.
  7. Whoda thunk? Not me but here it is. This is legit moderate+ snow now.
  8. It's actually legitimately moderate+ here now. It struggled for an hour or so but when it finally broke through it got real and over the last 20 or so minutes it really ramped up. 23*/NNW 1-3/SN
  9. Yeah back on WWBB right? That's where I first e-met a couple of those guys.
  10. Kinda ironic that the NE guys turned me/us on to Walt and now we've moved away from them. When I spent more time up there I liked the local reports but they're not important enough to me anymore so I don't need the drama. Did anyone notice how much snow they got at Woods Valley ski area? They were over 60" at open this morning and it was still coming down 3-4"/hr.
  11. This current storm going on reminds me of an old 4 Corners Low in a bunch of ways. It's too bad it won't follow through with an offshore redevelopment and run up the coast like they used to.
  12. If we're not gonna get a decent amount (4+") a dusting is about all I want. People are already terrible drivers and they get even worse when it's slippery. So... I'm hoping for next to nothing even though I hate dry cold because another 100 gallons of oil is less $ than replacing a car. I'm good with the mood flakes floating around through the sunshine right now
  13. I'd rather have nothing than a slippery inch that makes the plethora of bad drivers do dumber things than usual.
  14. I started following a few on FB so I could start injecting bits of reality and throwing sliders in and bursting bubbles. I've had little successes here and there. It's kinda fun actually.
  15. Nah this is tail-end of lake effect. I had a really heavy shower for a minute a little while ago.
  16. Very light... I probably wouldn't even have noticed if I didn't look at our black car.
  17. Anyone else getting some flakes and graupel this morning?
  18. Or watching Nemo bury LI and I got an inch
  19. @rclabHappy New Year to you and the stamp
  20. So, cold and mostly dry for a while. Could be worse. Judging by how that fog happened this morning the ground is very warm so it's going to need some time to cool down again and freeze. Hopefully that happens before we get decent snows so they have better staying power.
  21. Yeah, just responding to the post. I don't give up until March. This fog is intense. I coudn't even see the back of the yards across the street a few minutes ago, now it's dissipating super fast!
  22. At this range nothing will be 'the' solution. Could be great but it could also be nothing. I cleaned up the driveway this morning to make shoveling easier
