  1. First time out tonight, didn't have time to hit the range before so started cold. Not a good night to start cold, the course is on top of a hill and it was windy and cold. Drove the ball well but short game isn't there, shot a 47 and was in a sand trap 8 out of 9 holes so overall can't complain. My fingers were numb at the end even with a golf glove on, need to invest in some winter gold gloves.
  2. If you can rent for a while it's not a bad idea and wait to see where house prices are in 2-3 years, this pace can't keep up, I've seen three of these crazy run-ups and they always end the same way, prices go down. WE have pets so finding a rental is a problem, I've met a few people selling that are moving in with their parents and banking the money for now and they're going to wait and see what happens.
  3. Keep your head down, you peek you poke
  4. Looks like chipmunks, they make small holes like that when they dig.
  5. I have a mulberry, gets tons of berries every year but I have to beat the birds cause they swallow them up in no time.
  6. We used to have a winter camp out in Boy Scouts, we went to Treasure Valley in Paxton first week of Feb I think 76 or 77, we didn't have tents we slept in the Adirondack shelters. Good snow pack that year and it got below zero, all we did was sit around the fire all night and cooked our food, no one slept.
  7. I plant tomatoes, peppers and herbs, going to try cukes this year, I do them in totes on my patio.
  8. I used to golf with a guy that wouldn't let anyone walk on his lawn, he was obsessive about his damn lawn.
  9. I lost a third of my yard one year to the little bastages, turkeys ate and dug up my lawn, even had a skunk one night, my dog met him. Had 10 yards of loam trucked in and started over.
  10. Do you want shape or size? I let mine grow and they kept a nice shape, they just got pretty big.
  11. I used to get that on mine, had them probably 20 years and a blight or something killed them all. I don't remember them being that color every year though.
  12. That's awesome, I lost my cousin two months ago to covid, he was 63 and a little overweight but otherwise in good health. Great to hear a success story.
  13. Im going out next week for the first time, I could shoot what Chris shot or what you shot (or worse), never know first time out.
  14. Are you buying a house up there? Tons of good lakes up there to fish, I spend a lot of time in Maine since my sister lives there, might move up there myself when I near retirement.
  15. I just had one where the buyer was willing to put 25k between sale price and appraisal and it's not even close to enough for how much they overbid.
  16. A lot of people are selling their houses for crazy prices so have a decent amount of cash to overpay on another house. Just had a conversation this afternoon with a realtor about this very thing, he's never seen people with so much cash to put down and it's all because they got over payed for their current house.
  17. Same here, I'm ready, I usually take a nice easy swing first couple of times out and do ok, it's when I try and ramp things up when my game goes south so I have to go back to basics.
  18. As bad as home prices cratered in most of Mass they held steady in the Greater Boston Area back in 2005-2008 so I agree and would expect the same thing to happen again. The city has it's own market.
  19. I think the Ranch is a good area but I'm not sure where everyone lives, I'm in for the Ranch.
  20. Serious Berg, lets plan a golf outing with the golfers here this summer, there's enough of us, we can find a somewhat central place to meet in CT.
  21. Not absurdly high compared to Metro Boston but things are sky high across the state, it's all relative.
