The times we have rented they've been Polaris', fun to ride but they only went up to 20mph and other people would zoom by doing double that. I think the ones we had would go faster if they didn't regulate them but fun, nonetheless.

Thats my plan too as I move to Maine later this year, get into sledding, my wife loves it too so it's something we can do together. Plus, I love going up north where the snow is deep.

What does one expect to pay for a decent sled?

We usually go the New Hampshire and rent sleds for a day, the new sleds are nice with handwarmers, and they ride nice. On the rentals they mess with them so we could only go so fast, but still fun.

Didn't far northern NE have an epic snowpack about 4-5 years ago? I remember seeing pics of massive snow piles and houses half buried, just don't remember the year.

The sun melted some ice on my driveway today with a high of 28, it's over once the sun goes down. Not crazy about all this ice, I'm gonna take a good fall if it doesn't melt soon.

I did the same, was sweating with my coat on the heat turned off so took it off. We passed Tips sun heat day last week, could start tomatoes in my car in the sun.

I remember being in the hospital in April 1976 and the Sox opening game got cancelled due to snow, don't remember how much, I was in a drug induced fog.

We all have our own rating system, I give this year a C, a biggie can raise the grade, won't be an A no matter what happens.

Would you rather get less snow, but have it stick around with cold and small events adding to it or a big one that melts to nothing in a few days? I'd rather have the former myself but everyone's different.

Plus it's been cold. Maybe Ray needs KU to not call it a ratter? I would love a 2 footer but don't consider this year a ratter.

Is there ocean ice? I remember in the 05 cold snap going to the cape shore and it looked like the north pole.

It looks like most of the passengers would have died and seriously hurt, amazing they all lived and only a handful have serious injuries. -
