  1. I'd be happy with 50 inches and at least one 15+ incher.
  2. Will, what are Worcester's total snowfall the last 4 years?
  3. I have a lot of yellows that are peaking right now but not many reds, quite a few brown trees too.
  4. The funniest one was when he was talking while he looked like the last picture and two guys in shorts casually walked by behind him talking on the cell phones.
  5. I was a 13 and made the mistake of trying to play through a hip injury, my handicap shot up. Finally got the hip replaced and I'm still struggling to get my swing back, need to spend some time at the range and hit a lot of balls before next year starts.
  6. I bought a new bigger one two years ago and used it twice. I think I was the jinx, I hope I get to use it a dozen times this year. Wolfie's optimistic.
  7. I see a lot of older houses that were constructed with Chestnut, it was the main wood for building back before the blight and great firewood too. I see a lot of old barns made with chestnut; some people have some old Chesnut timbers they salvaged from the old barns.
  8. That's about the time I started to love it, not just for school days off but liked to play in it, shovel it, made some decent money when I was a kid shoveling walks and driveways.
  9. I remember that year now, I was never in the hot spot for the storms. I would be happy if I got what you did.
  10. Maybe we all have a different opinion of what is a ratter, anything less than half of average with not even one biggie to me a ratter. What did you get in 21 Wolfie?
  11. It's actually been 4 ratters in a row, I didn't think last year could have been worse than the year before, but it was. Odds are on our side though, an average winter would be the best of the last 5 years.
  12. I deal with landlords all the time here and they all tell me they have a waiting list of tenants 30-40 long looking to rent, and rents not cheap.
  13. My neighbors bought 88 acres in Halifax years ago on the cheap and just sold their house here in town and moved into the house they built up there. Good foresight by them especially if you love snow.
  14. You're using the acorn to squirrel ratio for snowfall predictions? Maybe that's a new one we can track along with snow cover in Canada.
  15. If you like the lot and it's buildable, go for it, I kick myself for not jumping on some good deals 30 years ago on land I liked up north.
  16. Lot of rain today with the sun out, I was driving so didn't have time to look around for rainbows but figured there had to be some there.
  17. Driving home from Maine this morning there was some areas that had good color, New Hampshire was probably the best then it got sporadic. I remember we took a class trip in 1977 to Walden Pond and I just remember the colors that fall were so vibrant and widespread, it was the best foliage I remember, ever and of course we had an epic winter topped off by the 78 blizzard. Not sure if there's any correlation.
  18. That's why I'm thinking playing it by ear with a day trip and go to some back roads in Vermont/NH.
  19. Everyone jacked up prices too, imagine going up for 3 days 2 nights and its dreary and cloudy that day, I'll probably play it by ear and drive up that morning. I am on waiting lists if anyone drops out.
  20. I lost 5 a couple years back, Tamarack told me what it was bit I forgot.
  21. My sister's large deck was loaded with acorns, I cleaned them up yesterday and they were back today. We blow it off the deck and she has a nut pick up basket and gives them to her neighbor to feed her goats. Goats are gonna be fat this winter.
  22. That's the chance you take and they jacked up prices for that timeframe, too.
  23. I tried booking a place in Vermont for April 24 eclipse and everything is booked. Maybe PF knows of something. If not, I'll drive up for the day or stay somewhere in Maine.
  24. That's what I've been doing with my hickory nuts, there's a ton this year, I'm mostly raking and shoveling shells, the squirrel colony take the nuts.
