  1. Not really, you're really just locking in your electric cost at about what you now pay or a little cheaper so if rates go up you're protected. That's why buying them is the best way to go, there used to be a program through FHA where you could finance the solar panels at 0% interest for I think 10 years, that was the way to go, not sure if they still have that program.
  2. Anybody do a white Thanksgiving to winter weather correlation?
  3. I used to mow my parents lawn with one of those when I was a kid, damn thing was heavy, eventually my uncle gave me a newer one that was much lighter and easier to push.
  4. I know at least one model comes with one built in, so you're in luck.
  5. I keep forgetting you moved to a weenie spot, looks ok for where you are now, not so much down here.
  6. Met a guy at the golf course that works for the state and told me they dump a lot in Oakham, a friend of mine lives there in the sticks and has a bunch of photos of bears in his yard over the years. Big bears, female bears, bear cubs.
  7. Last year I read an article about a group of people in Maine that do what he's doing for the whole winter. They do it every year. Not sure what they're trying to prove other than to save on oil or electric.
  8. There's been snow all around me looking at radar and not a flake here. I'm at 41.
  9. I'm still at 44, need the first frost to dump the leaves on my Japanese Maple.
  10. I got a Fiskars too, I like all their tools, I have an electric splitter, as 12 ton gas and a friend nearby with a 22 ton. Haven't lit the stove yet although I should have last night, house was cold this morning.
  11. Thought we were in line for a great winter that year, but nope.
  12. Yesterday after every little gust of wind it was raining leaves. My lawn is covered again already.
  13. I found a giant one in my bushes not 5 feet from the door I use every day, lucky I or my dog never got stung, we never knew it was there until the fall. My dog stuck her nose in one near the front porch once, thankfully, she's not allergic but got a scare.
  14. One of the courses I golf collects those in the winter, they have over 20 of them hung on the walls in the clubhouse.
  15. That's more than 50%, last cleanup should be easy for you.
  16. Same here but I have no oaks on my property, the woods across the street are lined with oaks and the leaves blow into my yard, that was the longest task today, getting rid of the oaks. Acorns are crazy too but not many blow into my yard. I would say 50% of leaves down? What do you guys think?
  17. I'm sure it has I just remember doing leaf cleanup with gloves on because of the cold and wearing a sweatshirt. Just a tee today and sweated. Last cleanup will be colder than today, guaranteed.
  18. First time I remember sweating doing leaf cleanup. I got a lot done today, one more cleanup and I should be good. My brother has this kick ass leaf blower, borrowed it today and made life easier.
