My old girl is 15 and arthritic so doesn't like going out when it's cold and she has to walk on ice. She tried walking up an incline yesterday, slipped and slid all the way back down on her back, I think she liked it
I have the same problem with my patio and my 15 year old arthritic dog, she's tried to go out there but ends up slipping and sliding, so she does her deed in the 5 foot cleared area or on puppy pads I put by the door. I should have went out last Sunday and cleaned it but didn't think it would freeze so quick.
I was in Springfield this afternoon for work, the side roads are terrible, seems you have more snow on the ground than I do here, not much more, maybe a couple inches.
Don't jinx me buddy. Actually, they average more than where I am, and they usually cash in on coastals and the occasional Norlund. My sister sends me pictures all the time and they have better retention too.
Southern area along the coast but my sister has been there 20 years and the winter there is much better than here plus you get that cold wind off the ocean that gets right to your bones. Right now she has a pack 3 times bigger than mine.
We use ours to get a little heat in the fall when some nights get cold but its oil now. I have a wood stove too but haven't used it since I need a shoulder replacement and couldn't get a good wood supply this year. Our new house will have mini splits with baseboard propane and I'll have a pellet stove in the basement.
The times we have rented they've been Polaris', fun to ride but they only went up to 20mph and other people would zoom by doing double that. I think the ones we had would go faster if they didn't regulate them but fun, nonetheless.
Thats my plan too as I move to Maine later this year, get into sledding, my wife loves it too so it's something we can do together. Plus, I love going up north where the snow is deep.
We usually go the New Hampshire and rent sleds for a day, the new sleds are nice with handwarmers, and they ride nice. On the rentals they mess with them so we could only go so fast, but still fun.
