  1. Hopefully we get a bigger one in the next couple of years.
  2. I remember golfing New Years eve here in 2008 or maybe 2007.
  3. Freeze at the beginning of November for most of us that haven't had one.
  4. Even going up north during the 80s wasn't all that great. Went to Sugarloaf in the early 80s and they had a lousy pack and icy conditions. I don't think we saw snow on the ground until we were an hour away from the mountain. That's when I learned to ski on ice.
  5. For some reason it seems worse, I know I didn't do as well as Worcester but I'm usually close.
  6. I grew up in the 60s and 70s so I'm one of those, when I was a kid, we had snow up to our waist. You seem to forget the bad years mixed in and there's a few. When I was a bit older and got into skiing, that was the 80s which sucked.
  7. I'd be happy with 50 inches and at least one 15+ incher.
  8. Will, what are Worcester's total snowfall the last 4 years?
  9. I have a lot of yellows that are peaking right now but not many reds, quite a few brown trees too.
  10. The funniest one was when he was talking while he looked like the last picture and two guys in shorts casually walked by behind him talking on the cell phones.
  11. I was a 13 and made the mistake of trying to play through a hip injury, my handicap shot up. Finally got the hip replaced and I'm still struggling to get my swing back, need to spend some time at the range and hit a lot of balls before next year starts.
  12. I bought a new bigger one two years ago and used it twice. I think I was the jinx, I hope I get to use it a dozen times this year. Wolfie's optimistic.
  13. I see a lot of older houses that were constructed with Chestnut, it was the main wood for building back before the blight and great firewood too. I see a lot of old barns made with chestnut; some people have some old Chesnut timbers they salvaged from the old barns.
  14. That's about the time I started to love it, not just for school days off but liked to play in it, shovel it, made some decent money when I was a kid shoveling walks and driveways.
  15. I remember that year now, I was never in the hot spot for the storms. I would be happy if I got what you did.
  16. Maybe we all have a different opinion of what is a ratter, anything less than half of average with not even one biggie to me a ratter. What did you get in 21 Wolfie?
  17. It's actually been 4 ratters in a row, I didn't think last year could have been worse than the year before, but it was. Odds are on our side though, an average winter would be the best of the last 5 years.
  18. I deal with landlords all the time here and they all tell me they have a waiting list of tenants 30-40 long looking to rent, and rents not cheap.
  19. My neighbors bought 88 acres in Halifax years ago on the cheap and just sold their house here in town and moved into the house they built up there. Good foresight by them especially if you love snow.
  20. You're using the acorn to squirrel ratio for snowfall predictions? Maybe that's a new one we can track along with snow cover in Canada.
  21. If you like the lot and it's buildable, go for it, I kick myself for not jumping on some good deals 30 years ago on land I liked up north.
  22. Lot of rain today with the sun out, I was driving so didn't have time to look around for rainbows but figured there had to be some there.
  23. Driving home from Maine this morning there was some areas that had good color, New Hampshire was probably the best then it got sporadic. I remember we took a class trip in 1977 to Walden Pond and I just remember the colors that fall were so vibrant and widespread, it was the best foliage I remember, ever and of course we had an epic winter topped off by the 78 blizzard. Not sure if there's any correlation.
