The best places in the US to experience totality during the April 2024 solar eclipse (yahoo.com)

I'm anticipating heavy traffic which is why I wanted to go up the day before and spend the night, since the eclipse is in the afternoon, I would stay that night too. Not only is everyone booked but they charged an arm and a leg. The only way around it is to leave very early that day and hopefully not everyone else gets the same idea. I might stay at my sisters in Maine and cut some time off for the early morning drive. It would really suck though if I spent a few hundred to stay a couple nights and it was totally cloudy. I guess I could try and chase it but that may be tough.

I always remember he had a rule of thumb, the high in Burlington in the winter would be the low in Boston. I checked a few times back then and it was close, not sure how often it works out like that though.

I had a couple mid 30's for highs but nothing below freezing yet, we actually had a thin layer of ice on small ponds at the beginning of the month but that disappeared quickly.

That's some good country rock there.

Looked like it was just going to splash those people near the water but kept on going and going, I noticed a couple of people to the right didn't run fast enough.

Or at least more likely than it is.

If given the choice, which we don't have would you take another 78 blizzard or another 2015?

I'm going to catch it one way or another, maybe if I leave at 6am and drive north, grab breakfast at some diner and put myself in position in the good zone, maybe I beat any traffic that day. I could always drive up the day before and sleep in my car.

I was going to stay at Stowe but there's no vacancies but there was a place in Burlington that had an Eclipse package, two nights, some meals included and a bus takes you to the best place to get the full effect, I tried them months ago and they were sold out but I put myself on a waiting list in case some people drop out. Don't like my chances.

It's probably better to do it the way you are, you're going to have a much better chance of having clear skies. I'm going to look into and maybe try that way.

I have a shat load of pinecones and branches after last week, I'll probably pick them up this weekend.

Killed my peach and pear crop

It's happened before, my neighbor planted new grass and it was still growing near Christmas on year.

I don't care if I end up with a total snowfall near my average, I just want a 15-20 incher and a couple moderate storms mixed in. Just want kit to look like winter for a few weeks, is that too much to ask? Of course, I would take one 2-3 footer too.

I tried booking a place in Vermont, but no one had a vacancy, if I want to see it, I'll have to drive up that morning. Really wanted to make it a 3-day mini vacation but waited too long.

The April Fool's Day storm, I got 25 inches and didn't shovel, it melted down pretty quick, the day after half melted so I could drive over it.

Just took the dog out, it's worse here tonight oo.
