  1. Looks like there's outages in my town according to that map, must be the highest elevations.
  2. It'll be a mess right after for sure, thousands of cars driving back home. Hopefully its a sunny day and they get the full effect.
  3. That was a common site around here in 2015, I even saw a lot of those plastic sheds with the roof caved in.
  4. Weird up and down year but your above normal right now and may go way above soon.
  5. I have a bunch of wood already that I bought before prices went sky high, I wanted to build it for my firewood for my stove to get it nice and dry to burn and keep it out of the weather. Just haven't had the time to put it all together.
  6. That's a nice solar kiln, I was going to build on with plastic instead of glass but that's just another thing on my to do list I may never get to.
  7. Jerry has the right idea heading to Texas, his odds are much better than around here.
  8. Looks almost like blizzard conditions today in some areas up North with high winds with heavy snow.
  9. Unfortunately I'm going to miss it being in Florida, I think it's about 50% down there but if I spent the money I was going to and go to Vermont and it ends up being cloudy, that would have sucked. The places up there jacked up the rates for that time.
  10. Car was covered earlier but its melted, I swear I saw flakes mixing about 6pm and I guess I was right.
  11. Our friend does too but we don't ask her if we can use it, don't want to push a good thing.
  12. Me neither, give them a few more years and when the new batteries are perfected then it might be worth looking into.
  13. I have a friend that lets us use her condo in Sarasota when we want. Just pay for air fare, which is cheap and rent a car. Going down in two weeks. Would like a snow storm before I leave.
  14. Looked nice before I went out today and the cold wind slapped me in the face.
  15. I had a forced warm air by oil furnace, I replaced with a forced warm air hybrid so it used electric very miserly unless it gets real cold, then it kicks into using oil, I used less oil than when I burned wood (oil is also for hot water heater) and the most my electric bill went up was still under $100. Of course it was a mild winter so not sure how it would do in a winter like 2015. Basically a hybrid is the same idea as the mini-splits but since I already have ducts I went that route.
  16. Geezus, that looks huge, what's the dimensions?
  17. I've been reading about issues with it and a lot of complaints from people who bought one.
  18. I needed to replace my heating/cooling system, I updated to a high efficiency system and with the rebate cost less than the regular one, I also paid about half of what I usually pay for heating.
  19. I only got to 52 with sprinkles on and off.
  20. I remember a St Patrick's day back in the 90s where we had snow changing to sleet the freezing rain and the roads were a skating rink.
  21. I have to do that next weekend, was busy today, I bet I have all of a thousand sticks and pinecones.
  22. Been cloudy here, was 45 when I left this morning, it's now 51 with intermittent sprinkles.
