    I don't consider it a rat, it's been cold, and we had a white Christmas and lately snow on the ground with frigid temps. sure, I'd love to see more snow, but it looks and feels like winter. To me a rat is way above normal in temps on bare ground for most of the winter.

    I just missed below zero this morning, my low was 2, last two nights were -4 and -5, decent stretch of cold. Looks like we still have cold although not as extreme for a while. Winter in winter.

    Amazing with all the cold most of South Dakota and half of Minny and Wisconsin don't have snow.

    Saw a lot of ice fisherman and kids playing hockey on the ponds this week in my travels, seems like when I was a kid we did that every year but who knows, that was a long time ago.

    My feet crack in this weather, have to rub O'Keefes on them every night.

    My friend in Calabash NC got 3 inches, cancelled todays golf league, I'm down to 8 right now, not like last two nights but still pretty good.

    Looking at that radar I don't think I did that great but I don't remember the details.

    I've been in 35 below twice, it hurts at that temp.

    Snakes do the same thing so not too sure the cold will make a dent in the python problem.

    Ponds should have thick ice before this cold snap ends and last into February. Once it gets pretty thick takes a lot to melt it.

    We have a block between the Davis and Trump Straits.

    Looks you guys will get the snow machine turned on again in a few days.

    It looks like we could scab and inch or two here and there before the possible storm in Feb, looks like the cold stays in some form for a while.

    My friend bought a place in that area too, he bought it to escape the cold and snow so he could golf year-round, no golf for a few days there.

    A friend of mine in North Carolina is expecting 6 inches tonight and its in the 20s, this is his winter place to get away from the cold weather and snow.

    When I drive down from Maine on cold mornings the temp jumps around like that, one day it was a 20 degree jump, from -12 to 8 in about one mile. It's near the ocean so I guess that's why the difference. On the good side, ponds should be safe, even the large ones.

    My wife said her car therm had -4 at about 7am when she backed out of the garage.
