Hasn't happened in 26 years yet so I assume it won't. I had a new roof installed last year and unbeknown to me they ripped up the gutter guards with the old roof and threw them into the dumpster. Back a few months when we got the heavy rains what your describing is exactly what happened. Even got water into my basement for the first time. I cleaned the gutters and installed the guards and everything's been hunky dory since.
Could be, I live on a small dead end street with 5 houses, we all help each other and lend tools, I've borrowed my neighbors snow blower when mine was down and I've lent mine out now that I have a good one among other tools.
One of my aunts had boxes full of dividend checks, they were only a few dollars each but she thought they were statements and not checks and never cashed them. Not sure how much it ended up but it was gone.
I was only 16 but I swear all the mets on the major networks before the blizzard of 78 said it was a huge storm but was just going to graze us, the next morning was different but I remember going to bed disappointed.
Used to like the day when the mets at 11 would predict light snows 1-3 inches and we'd end up with 18 inches. Those days are over I think but when I was a kid I always went to bed hoping they were wrong.
