  1. So that area behind the hay bales is the "wetlands". I don't think there are any restrictions on you disturbing/planting on this side of that but it's likely that you can't do anything on the other side.
  2. Detention Ponds are normally dry. They only have water in them during wet periods. Got a picture of it?
  3. They may be detention ponds that are part of your property. Definitely will want to see what is allowed on them. We have a few in my neighborhood as well (none on my property)
  4. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a Norway. http://blogs.pjstar.com/gardening/2013/07/12/identifying-norway-maple-and-a-sugar-maple-trees/
  5. I have a Himalayan Birch that has grown beautifully on a SE exposure. Bought it about 10 years ago now as a 5-6' tree and it's now 12-14' tall.
  6. Makes sense. Mine are on the southeast part of my property so they get sum till mid/late afternoon when the sun drops below the trees.
  7. Come do my lawn/shrubs. It's a disaster right now. I'm only able to spend about 2-3 hrs a week right now with my schedule which allows me to cut the lawn and that's about it. No edging done, minimal weeding done, no mulching done. Sign.... Just out of curiosity what was your last 1/4's water/sewer? Mine was only about $250. Will go up slightly over the summer.
  8. Was a no show here. Just some heavy rains and a few boomers. 0.42"
  9. I may not always chase tornados but when I do, I do it while drinking Dos Equis.

  11. He might be giving his forecast that he spoke about earlier.
  12. Never again do I want to be exposed to a t-storm like i was on the Crawford Path.
  13. Is there a place to go in case of severe?
  14. Enjoy it W of here. Threat looks minimal here now with flow more out of the SW which won't cut it. Also, its only 61F with DP of 57F and overcast skies. Would need some solid clearing and daytime heating to kick things into gear.
  15. As S&P said, they're better than nothing but ultimately an actual core getting pulled from the ground is best as it will free up space in the solid so it can spread out while allowing air to get further down.
  16. If you're re-doing the lawn in the Fall, I'd skip spending much if anything on it and just let it go. Control the weeds and keep it cut would be about all I would do.
  17. Getting late to aerate. Traditionally you want to do that in early spring or in Fall when the lawn is growing the most. You may do ok with lime but the same applies, drop it when the lawn is growing the most. Early Spring and Fall are best. Lime won't hurt your acidic soil but it may take longer to absorb.
