I agree. While the increased resolutions are great, I like looking back at the coarser models. It does feel like there is far too much variability run to run these days. This is where knowledge/experience as a forecaster trump models.
Ok. So far the only negative impact I've seen has been the rise in coastal impacts (ie flooding). That does not occur only in Winter. That's year round.

We currently have a pig. Looks better by end of 1st week of Jan though. As you stated though, we may have to contend with SE ridging. Would help if we had some downstream blocking.
