18z GFS lifted that vorticity in Quebec further north. That allows heights to rise ahead of system. Storm is allowed to curl more northerly.

2-4” would be my call here, followed by the gamut of predip types. 1-2hrs slower on the mid-level warming will make a huge difference in totals.

Northern stream comes in hot and heavy and just crashes heights out ahead not allowing storm to curl north.

GFS loves to overplay southern stream and at times virtually ignore northern.

Nice solid frozen front end on 12z hires even here. Looks like we transition to pure rain around 11-12z. all snow up till around 05-06z. Would equate to 3-6”.
