  1. The most exciting part here will be the dust blowing around. Winds don't look that extraordinary. I've seen winter storms with stronger and longer southerly winds.
  2. Is this a Cat 2. Last I saw was 85mph. 96mph is threshold for Cat 2.
  3. All reasonable views accepted. Mine is just my humble opinion. I hope this peters out as I’d hate to see people’s lives upended or lost under any circumstances.
  4. See above 2 posts. I think we are at max strength and this will weaken once it hits the Carolinas.
  5. I don’t think we see sustained hurricane force winds up here, no.
  6. Yep. Shrederola incoming once it heads inland. This isn’t going over the marshy lowlands of HAT which would have a lesser impact on the storm.
  7. Not a proper mask for preventing spread of Covid
  8. Droughtstein's forecast https://www.boston.com/weather/weather/2020/08/03/isaias-forecast-new-england MEH here
  9. High Wind Warning A High Wind Warning is issued when the following conditions are expected: 1) sustained winds of 40 mph or higher for one hour or more OR 2) wind gusts of 58 mph or higher for any duration. Tropical Storm Warning A Tropical Storm Warning is issued when sustained winds of 34 to 63 kt (39 to 73 mph) or higher associated with a tropical cyclone are expected in 36 hours or less. These winds may be accompanied by storm surge, coastal flooding, and/or river flooding.
  10. I don't recall the named storm but it was a good 5-7 years ago now that brought some solid winds to SE MA. Brought down some tress in the neighborhood. This looks nothing like that threat.
  11. No one has said there would not be wind damage potential in SW CT.
  12. In Tauntnone it's stopped raining after that June onslaught of 4"+
  13. To all 3 of those points, I think the greatest risks in New England are in western areas. Not saying we can't rule out a rogue spin up or rain band, I just see the majority of issues being over W NE.
  14. All the best forcing for rain is west of the circulation. Gonna be huge disappointment around eastern areas.
  15. Dews don't get much higher then this here.

  17. Be luck if we see 30mph gusts and 1/4" of rain at this point.
