  1. I am starting to think that some of the models that began to forecast higher totals may have been counting sleetpack, lol. Because with the cold ground you have and the antecedent cold conditions, heavy sleet WILL pile up and eventually become a glacier. ZR will serve as a cement, then when the inevitable cold weather arrives after the storm, what you'll end up with is a material known as Ice-Nine. Shovels bounce right off it. The entire ground becomes a world-class Olympic skating rink.
  2. You guys are on a heater, gonna get demolished, again and again and again and again
  3. You guys are on a heater! Enjoy it! ENJOY THAT SNOW!
  4. The upcoming HRRR runs should help balance out those horrendous nam runs from about 20 hours ago. Back in '16, some models were printing out about 47 inches of snow; the reality was about in the middle: 27 inches for Dale City. In this case, take the worst runs of the nam and the best runs from other models that we were all hugging like a once in a lifetime gf, and average them all out. the outcome will end up about in the middle.
  5. NOW I KNOW why the heck it is so darn COLD here in south central Texas: CROSS. POLAR. FLOW. THAT, is why we are getting massive cold front after massive cold front, and it is why the Gulf of Mexico is not rescuing us with warm mild southeasterlies as it usually does. The Gulf is why I can grow orange and lemon trees down here. Its the reason I can enjoy fresh tomatoes off my vines in late December, like I did a couple weeks ago! It is also the reason The Mid Atlantic may end up with a truly historic Big Dog this month. You have Siberian-sourced cold air. You get that STJ, which you will get and phasing, among so many other factors which pros like Bob Chill know like the back of their hand which is what spells major snow and cold winter for the entire sub. Maybe not this particular storm in the metros, but this pattern will evolve, needs to mature a little bit. Once it does, the entire Washington Metropolitan Region had better look out! Stock up on foods, craft beers, Jebman Shovels, snowblowers for the old men lmao! Stock up on firewood too! This could be historic, the rest of this month and possibly into early Feb!
  6. Wow 24 inches in my old hometown, Dale City! I want that SO BAD for everyone in this sub!
  7. That would be a nasty ice storm on top of a decent snowpack in charles town. Wow 26 degrees with ZR after a good deal of snow. Break out the beer stay off the roads, major ice rink
  8. You will turn out right. You will get hammered by heavy snow.
  9. It starts at 330pm on a Monday. The snow becomes heavy right away, wall of snow. There will be thundersnows. You get anywhere from 11 to 18 inches. No mixing, tho there may be some mixing in SE VA and E NC. Massive storm, lots of moisture and decent cold air. There'll be other snows after that, too. We've only just begun.
  10. You up at Mchenry in this? You'll get demolished! Get ready for some serious, serious snow!
  11. The sub must have gotten severely NAMMED. Thats why there is hardly anyone on here. Maybe its wrong, could be an outlier folks.
  12. This run of the NAM is overdone. The reality is somewhere in the middle. Take this run straight from hades and the best run from 48 hrs ago, average it out.
  13. Absurd snowfall? Hit the Sierras. You might not be able to leave lmao kinda like the Donner Party
  14. What I wouldnt give to wake up on Monday morning, crack open the Mid Atlantic sub and find very happy snow weenies flying happily all over! The storm missed wide right and DC gets 20 inches of pow, as well as much of the forum!
  15. If we could get enough people to lineup from Texas to North Dakota and blow east as hard as they can, rev up some industrial grade blowers, maybe we could get this damned storm track to shift east 60 miles.
  16. Better than eastern Prince William but I think you should reposition in Berkeley County in West Virginia. Thats a very very good spot.
  17. You know, I am usually pretty upbeat, but these temperature maps are slightly depressing lately. We're still gonna get snow though.
  18. Need the snow sleet ZR glop removed? Just call The Jebman! Efficient, fast snow removal since 1976-77.
  19. Come on back, Reaper! We need you! The Reaper NEVER retires!
  20. Clueless - See what I have been tellin you all along! You get 7 to 10 inches from this! You'll see some mix, but you will SCORE with those orographics! You got elevation! You will have local maxima as well, local lollis of perhaps 11-12 inches. Ji is in Leesburg, he will get demolished too! Any sleet you guys get will only strengthen the pack!
