  1. I know. Others are having a near shutout or full shutout to date. It sucks.
  2. Trace of snow here on coldest surfaces only. Pavement and concrete just wet. Started as rain showers in the hours around mid-night. Total melted =.03". Total January snowfall = 1.80" and season to date = 5.80".
  3. For sure. It has backed off the hyper extreme readings of the last few cycles. Believe these numbers or even a tad higher will be closer to reality. Especially without a snow cover.
  4. With the forecast trajectory of the cold air mass, origin, track and position of the high pressure just imagine what could happen with a snowpack for the late week outbreak! NYC would have a shot at zero or a tad below. The airmass over southeast Canada and adjacent NYS/NE will be truly untouched pure Arctic air. Intensely cold. We may rival some of the overnight lows of the Christmas outbreak but not quite get to those levels. Might be close though depending on a few factors. Not the least of which is the timing of the coldest of the 850's over the area. Useless cold air I know but at least SOMETHING to take interest in.
  5. Nice big cold Arctic High sliding to our north to provide the coldest weather since Christmas to the North East and Mid-Atlantic late next week and next weekend. Once that slides east back to above normal again. Nice cold shot coming for a few days late week/weekend though. Useless cold but cold nonetheless.
  6. Some great stats in here this morning. Thanks to those that dig into the record books.
  7. 1.5" snow (completely gone this morning) with a total melted of 1.83". Temperatures surged to near 50 overnight and is back down into the mid 30's currently.
  8. Received 1.5" here today. Currently 33 and rather foggy with some drizzle.
  9. Not going to snow between now and the 29th so the record will be broken.
  10. I’d want to see pictures if they do.
  11. Has lightened up here. I'm thinking I'll be close to 1" by the time all is said and done. Bright banding showing up SW of me so mix / change line is getting close.
  12. Thanks! Do you know what day we are on now? I'm thinking 321 or so?
  13. Question. For Don probably. Now that the record for latest measurable in CP is broken where are we in terms of the record for interval between measurable. I think the record is 332 days but not sure and not sure what day we are at now. Would love to bust that record as well. After that not sure what is left except least in a season.
  14. Has been snowing for about 90 min. Have .7” thus far. Temp fell from 32 to 29.5 and now stuck at 29.8 for last 30 min. Sticking on all surfaces including treated road out front albeit not a well traveled road.
  15. Light snow began here at 12:20. Temperature at start time was 32. We'll see what it wet bulbs to.
  16. I believe tomorrow is safe for NYC. Don't see measurable for the park tomorrow. Highly unlikely though that they go the entire season with zero. That would be absolutely historic but something to shoot for I guess. Just don't believe that happens. Would be historic just to get through D/J/F with zero. They have to be able to pick up something along the line between now and the end of March.
  17. Don't look now but GFS is back to glacier building mode to open February. I'll say one thing about this winter so far. I've not lost a wink of sleep over any incoming storm.
  18. Variations on the same theme since November. Nothing has greatly changed because if it had we would have had a period of sustained cold and more snow than we have gotten. Pattern was not "good" or it would have produced and it didn't. A four day cold shot is not anything noteworthy. Sorry, just the way I see it.
  19. Oh but look it turns much colder at 240 hours! Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Nothing will change until something changes and so far this season there have been no significant changes to the overall pattern.
  20. Back edge coming through. About .10”. Pavement wet.
  21. To me it does. It would somehow make the lack of snowfall worthwhile. Pyrrhic victory if you will.
  22. Had .60" rainfall since this all began yesterday afternoon. Started as IP-/S- with no visible accumulations. Melted on contact. Currently S- with trace amounts on deck, snowboard and mulched surfaces. Temperature 32.5 degrees. Maybe a tenth or two before all is said and done.
