They are just gonna cause March to be above normal and then have a crappy April again. I say March be wintry and transition right into a great April and Spring lol.
-
You’ll jackpot often on there if you get up in the Mountains west of town. Cumberland/Deep Creek area would get more than Harrisonburg.
-
Little less than Maggie Ace on the other side of the Plott Balsams from the pics my wife sent. Power out around us but our neighborhood kept it on which that used to be the other way around. So that’s good.
-
Maybe we can get 40’s and rain instead of 30’s this go round lol
-
I’m just not getting what the models are seeing, about all want to put ice down in Haywood and I just don’t get it.
-
Mmm pancakes. Make a run over to downtown Waynesville and get some beer at Blue Ridge Beer Hub to get your through tomorrow lol.
-
I will eat my hat if my house gets a half inch of ice in a CAD setup, it goes against climatology so much.

According to my wife, this is correct haha

I’m up in Roanoke til next week so y’all will obviously score lol

For whatever reason everyone forgets that the PNA drives the bus just as much for us as blocking. In years where the Atlantic has been putrid when the Pacific gets good we can score something if even minimal, just like this year with a horrid Pacific and awesome Atlantic. Personally I feel like the PNA is more important than the NAO, at least it feels like it the past 10 years. Especially this year where it just goes to show you all the blocking in the world can’t get a widespread winter storm unless out West wants to cooperate.

At least with a wedge you have a chance at frozen whereas is SW mountain folk are on the outside looking in with just a warmer rain lol
-
The truth, if you like 40’s, being enshrouded in clouds, mud and rain then Haywood county is for you next week.

I think it started with the Danville flooding while you were there ha. All I know is I’m so looking forward to fishing a kayak tourney Saturday on Norman in 30 degree rain
-
I’m gonna start calling you the anti-Jshetley, whereas it was always about it being dry and drought with him lately it’s you honking about rain and flooding lol.

Once April 1st rolls around I’m ready for Spring weather to be in full force with the occasional chilly morning. More fishing and playing golf are in order starting then.

4-5” for my house from different measurements my wife took. Closing in on 20” for the season.
-
Gonna at least be a morning of hanging around the hotel, if not all day. Looking out my window, appears to be 2-3” here in Beckley. Wife sent a picture of our deck and I think it’s an easy 4”, she’s gonna measure and see shortly.

Keeps up the obs guys, living vicariously through y’all until that backside to my west rolls through up here in WV.

Yea we moved in Feb 2019 so that was the Dec 2018 storm, will be 2 years next weekend.
-
No doubt, I know the winter we moved up they had the big December storm (I think the neighbors said 16" for us)and then we had one or two minor events after we moved in come February but that was it. Last year was blah, still better than any winter in Charlotte but only 10-12" for the season. We were at 14" before this storm, felt like winter all season, got to hunt in the snow a couple times, some decent cold snaps, etc. Gonna be a wild ride from here to the end of April!
-
Yep, this is one of those setups I've been waiting on, I think 4" is a good call as long as the raggedness stays away. Still waiting on a nice, big organized low to crawl up from the Gulf. Preferably when I'm at home lol.

My wife says it looks like a good inch and half accumulation at our house and coming down good. Take that for what it's worth, I've found her visual estimations in regards to snow to be all over the place

Starting to lay at my house, wife reports “big ol flakes now”.
