  1. It’s in the mid 30s and raining. Pretty miserable.
  2. Want it to melt now. Made it to a month. It’s a slushy mess now. Time to go. At this point it’s about chasing some dynamic March event. Doesn’t have to be 20”, I’d track something that’s only like 8-10” so long as it’s a thump of heavy snow like that late March 2014 storm that was 8” up here. Cold smoke storms and pack building season is over. Either give me a dynamic wet SN+++ event or I’d prefer 60s and hitting the rail trail.
  3. I don’t chase snow anymore. I let it chase me.
  4. It’s got 1/3 of the way to the final outcome in 1 run
  5. I’m sure that’s where the snow will end up
  6. No you didn't He used my CM map and forgot to convert
  7. Damn legit heavy now. Golf ball flakes.
  8. It will flip when the dry slot south of this current banding gets here in a couple hours. Until then should be fun. Closing in on 1” now. Sticking to everything.
  9. Glad it’s going to warm up later...my snowblower is busted and I am not shoveling my quarter mile driveway!
  10. It’s snowing pretty hard right now. 32
  11. We’re going in the afternoon on the afternoon/evening ticket. Should catch the break between precip.
  12. Taking my son skiing at Liberty tomorrow so these are mood flakes. He is excited. I wanted a day that’s warm but not too warm and the snow will be a little slushy. Perfect for a 6 year old still learning.
  13. Was in Hanover PA 10 miles north of me...39 mostly rain. Just got home, 32 moderate snow. Driveway caving and solid coating on everything. Temp dropped and snow picked up coming south near the PA border where the elevation goes up.
  14. Looks like my snowpack will make it to EXACTLY 4 weeks of total coverage...likely the 50's and rain later tomorrow and tomorrow night nukes whats left of it (down to about 3" in the sun and 5" in the shade)...but it made it to exactly 4 weeks which is pretty impressive even for up here.
  15. There are some opportunities, always have to keep one eye on it when there is a -NAO (even just transient) in March. There is cold close enough that something could pop up. But for me...its been a LOOOONG winter with a lot of tracking and nothing that happens here on out is likely to equal what already has happened plus I am VERY busy at work right now so I am just casually tracking. And I have no interest in jumping into the "winters over/not over" fight.
  16. This seems like an exaggeration...no one has insulted or attacked anyone personally. It just feels like a lot of expressing difference of opinions. That’s not so bad Imo. In my case I disagree a bit on some topic limits but I’m not upset or mad at anyone. Just disagree. So what. It’s no big deal. People don’t need to agree on everything.
  17. But to be fair he is just enforcing the policies of the board. Doesn’t mean they are always his policies. I’m not trying to attack anyone personally. And it’s not that big a deal. I just disagree. I’m not mad at anyone.
  18. But what makes discussing a viral pandemic mitigation strategy or AGW or the merits of scientific methodology political...because none of those things is inherently political. Its simply because one of our political parties has decided to use each topic to their advantage in some way and the people who subscribe to their propaganda then get upset when someone says something not aligned to it. But that can happen to ANYTHING! What if Republicans decide beer is bad and they get mad if we talk about drinking. Does that mean we can’t discuss micro brews anymore? What if they decide football is bad over the anthem crap... then we can’t talk that anymore? So again what’s “political”? Ok my definition was too narrow. I guess the better one is “any topic that one of our parties manages to convince their sycophants to get all bent about”. I’d prefer not to give either of our jackass political parties that kind of power over our lives.
  19. Ya it’s been warm out this week lol
  20. I’m talking about within the thread last year that you referenced. And it wasn’t mods necessarily.
  21. People get offended about everything and anything. its futile. Some people get offended by an off color gif or joke. IMO, and this is JUST MY OPINION and its fine to disagree and I have no authority so my opinion don't mean jack...the shut down of opinions that happened during the discussions were more to blame for some leaving then the fact we had the discussion at all. Even if I agreed with the point some were making I didn't understand why there had to be a ganging up and attack of certain views, even if I thought those views were wrong. So what. Let them say it. Then you can engage with them on it and have a civil debate, or ignore it. But there was some degree of "gang up on that WRONG view" thing going on and that pissed off certain people.
  22. The definition of political here seems to be “anything that upsets a lot of people”. Fine. But not the same as political.
  23. You may not agree with my opinion on those 2 issues but I assure you I didn’t come to that conclusion because I didn’t listen to all sides. I defended Showmethesnow’s right to say what he did last spring. I was not in favor of shutting it down. I defended losetoa’s right to espouse his views. But that does not mean I have to agree. We have a long accepted scientific method for proving claims that I very much agree with that has been around long before either current political cult, I mean party, in this society. Proving a hypothesis through data and research and through CONSENSUS of expert review of evidence. When a group, ANY group!!!, can’t substantiate their claims using that scientific method I do not accept the strategy that they can simply throw out the concept of objective truth by screaming enough about that scientific method and questioning its legitimacy. That’s dangerous. And it’s been employed by plenty of groups over history (left and right) and never to a good result! We probably should continue this in PM before they decide discussing the merits of the scientific method is political now too. ETA: if we were in a court I feel 100% confident I could prove both of my claims you take issue with above beyond a reasonable doubt
