I’m 82/77 w/HI of 90.

From OKX discussion: Timing of onset of convection looks to be late morning into early afternoon for the Lower Hudson Valley, during the early afternoon for much of the remainder of the area, with perhaps Eastern Long Island and Southeast Connecticut not getting the onset of convection until closer to mid afternoon (about 3PM local time). The convection looks to end by mid evening, about 10 PM for Lower Hudson Valley, Northeast NJ, and NYC and closer to midnight to 1AM farther east. Dry weather returns thereafter into early Sunday as the cold front moves farther south of Long Island.

One of the few days I probably will. Those winds when they pick up a tad knock the temp down only to rebound and repeat the cycle. I seem to go up to 89 and down to 88 as winds gust to 8 mph. At my parent’s house, Muttontown, it hit 90.1 so far. Definitely need to set up the new VP2 I have for here as the fan in the FARS is making noise plus my anemometer is shot.

89.8 (90) so far in Syosset.

81.7 currently, topped out at 87.5 (88) earlier. DP is a nice sticky 70 with a HI of 86.

If winds go East, as forecasted, coastal locations won’t exceed. We’ll see when the wind shift occurs.

Just imagine if a hurricane hit the island. Amazing how long it takes utility crews to get a localized area back up and running after a tstorm. Question whether anything was learned from Sandy.

Yep, I did all that. It won’t stop lightning but it’ll stop insurance company from saying it wasn’t grounded. Worth the $$$$.

You need to move it to the roof and have it on tripod post. I should give you crap for your anemometer not being sited correctly

@psv88what were the winds on your weather station when this hit? Looks like some nice straight line winds from storm of around 50-60 mph based on your videos.

My little storm chaser waiting for storms that once again missed us. Ouch. Hope the trees didn’t hit any property and you have power. Radar looked intense for Commack as that line went over.

Stuff over the sound in CT looks like it’s heading to Pt Jeff on east if it survives the sound.

Looks like storms passing east of the N Shore of Nassau, as Suffolk gets hammered. Sunny and 83 here.

One final shot of the N edge of storms. Syosset had a 2 minute light shower and that was it, just a trace for the day.

Murphy’s law for sure. Tomorrow is colder aloft so if any storms do pop the hail chance should be higher.

I finished with a high of 90.6 (91) for today. Waiting to see what storms we get along the N Shore here, if any.

Isn’t that their MO always? They had yesterday for my point and click with a high of 84. Ended up with 89.

@psv88you have any towering cumulus to your S from seabreeze front? I have these off to my S getting taller.
