    Highest 850 anomalies are centered to our W, so Great Lakes area may approach record warmth it seems.

    77 at EWR it got correct I think, but seems most of the 80s were Trenton/Philly. As @bluewavepointed out the warm front was further S than modeled so not surprised some locations the high temps were off a bit. At least we all received some measurable QPF for once.

    The way this hurricane season has gone to date, I'd be hesitant to go along with the models on intensity, especially at this early stage of development too. We'll see how strong PTC9 gets in the days ahead.

    Assuming Helene to be strengthens to a major hurricane, we shall see. If not, what do those maps show? Probably a bend back NW, etc.

    You just needed to move away from the shoreline on LI I have 8 nights in the 50s plus one in the 40s in Syosset. Glad you are enjoying the cooler nights in CT now.
