  1. Check out the winds in higher tilts. That's definitely going to cause damage somewhere there.
  2. Watching an area around Bridgeport/New Haven County for one of those Seabreeze cu to bubble over and blow up from the NY storm outflow.
  3. Hrrr keeps forming a cell that lifts up the middle of CT toward the MA border later on.
  4. HRRR is printing out 4" lollies over Farmington Valley. Seems like over to Waterbury, Cheshire, Bristol is favored. That stretch.
  5. 3.18" of rain over the past 24 hours at home. A lot of modeling adds at least 2" over next two days.
  6. The early morning storms sat over Avon and here. Second round favored a little south. This round a little north this time, but cells should slide east and train over northern CT tonight.
  7. Doing the same thing it did from Burlington to Farmington, this time a few miles north. Turning easterly as it strengthens.
  8. Looks troublesome for the in laws here in Poquonock/Windsor. Could see a severe warning in coming minutes.
  9. BURLINGTON - RT 4 CLOSED at Canton road because of Tree down in wires (Police Activity). Reported Sunday, July 2 at 5:37 pm.
  10. If that Torrington/Winsted cell could get going, it could be your next severe warning. I'd favor Fairfield County for the next severe warning though. Atmosphere ahead of that cell in CT most be a bit tainted overall.
  11. Storm damage in Farmington Route 4 is closed from Route 179 to River Rd in Farmington due to a tree and power lines down across the road.
  12. That Hartford cell just went severe since my last post. I might drive a few miles down the road to intercept.
  13. There has been a good deal here for whatever reason. But I am only about 1-2 football fields from a large river.
  14. Not much wind or hail or really anything severe close to the surface. I think we just have a deceiving hook unless it can strengthen. Thunder just really started booming here to the NW of the storm.
  15. OK, now that cell is definitely a bit stronger west of Hartford. Rotation trying to get going, but the parameters do not blow me away for a spin up either.
  16. I probably picked up another 0.25 I'd guess. Would put me around 2.25" will check PWS. Well, more than I even thought, 2.40".
  17. A bit tighter now, but still a pretty weak storm overall. Looks to be tracking more east towards West Hartford.
  18. Looks like some small hail might be forming for Avon or Farmington, just to my south.
  19. There is some very weak, broad rotation with this cell to my SW near Burlington.
  20. It is torrentially downpouring again at home. I'm close to the Farmington River, the mosquitos are going to be the size of Volkswagens after this.
  21. Two tornado warnings in that group of storms over PA. Something to watch in hours ahead as things move east. Heavy rain is already organizing over CT again. Looks like were are going well over 2" today.
